How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

The output signal is linear, and is controlled using non-linear controls. The standard American output is 240 ohm - 30 ohm (Empty - Full), 18-21mm per step.
A SAE 5 Hole Mounting Pattern (Not equidistant) should be used.
A range of -40°F to +185°F (-40°C to +85°C) is supported by this system.
There are four pieces included in this kit Sending Unit (1 piece), NBR Mounting Gasket (1 piece), Ten-Four Hex Screws (5 pieces), and Installation Instructions (1 piece).
A PERFECT REPLACEMENT FOR USE IN Diesel, Gasoline, Fuel, Oil, Water, OEM

Questions & Answers

The gasket is included with this new sending unit, or are they separate?

Gaskets and screws are included in the package.

What do you have in stock for 14 1/2" senders? 14" was the longest one I could find here. ?

In this case, a 14" is a perfect replacement for a 14 1/2", just enable a The only way to tell when the tank is empty is to use a sight glass (or silence). But you should use a traditional yard stick to measure the actual depth of the tank where the sender is mounted. Maybe there's actually more room for a longer unit than you think. It is, however, recommended that you leave a space of at least 1/2" between the sender and the tank wall to allow for vibrations

It is important to make sure this sender can be utilized in a water tank. Using a similar Moeller sender to test out of the tank, but not in, it worked perfectly. ?

I believe this would work in a tank of water

When it comes to the wiring to the gauge, how long is it?

Neither I nor anyone else knows what the wiring is to the gauge but my wiring is 15-gauge It is 18'. You could run a larger wire, such as 14 gauge, if you're worried about the length.

My latest purchase is of the highest quality and one I won't have to replace for a long time
5/5

This is an extremely high quality product. The switch is controlled by reed switches and Each float is equipped with a magnet that opens or closes the reed switches when A reed switch usually has a life span of billions of actuations, so there is no variable resistor to fail. Even though this sensor gives a series of steps rather than a continuously varying reading, it's more than accurate enough for a boat, which will likely see large differences in fuel levels as a result of the boat pitching and yawing during chop, wakes Unless specified otherwise, the length shown is the measured length from the bottom of the mounting plate up to the end of the sensor. It is not what is recommended for the tank depth of a sensor, as some other makers specify. Choose a tank depth sensor at least one inch shorter than your tank depth. In other words, if your tank is 8 inches long, you should order a sensor that is 7 inches deep. In the absence of sufficient clearance, the sensor could hit the bottom of the tank, potentially causing the tank to wear down, a leak to occur, and several thousand dollars to fix it (if the tank was permanently fixed I note that As to how many feet to order, there are conflicting directions from the manufacturer. I was told to reduce the tank to 1" no matter what material it was made of, according to the directions I received. Upon confirmation with their customer support team, that number is correct. Their web site stated "the length should be one inch less than the depth of the tank if the tank is plastic, and a half inch less if the tank is metal. The depth of the tank should not be more than 5" less than its depth if the tank is made of It depends greatly on the mounting, size, shape, material, thickness of the wall, location of the sensor, and the amount of fuel in the tank when the measurement is taken on how much sag is measured at the sensor. make sure that the depth of the tank you're replacing is at least 1" shorter than the depth of the tank that you're replacing (measured from the top of the tank to the bottom). *BEAR IN MIND The probability of fire is quite high This installation should not be done with electric tools in a motor with gasoline in it, or that has ever had It is possible that vapors of fuel could ignite if sparks produced inside the tool (switch, brush) are ignited.

It is a good company to do business with

The fuel tanks are (2)). A full line of gauges and senders are produced All of the parts work according to the wiring instructions, and the instructions are very straightforward. Manufacturers did not appear to have made any mistakes. If you are planning to install receivers, however, you should always check the impedance first. In the event that you don't have an olm meter, you can use a small (12) volt battery to connect the whole system together and watch the gauge while slid the float up and down.

I like this unit a lot
4/5

The image is accurate and the resolution is good. A replacement arm was installed to replace the OEM's The fuel sender in my Hydra is this type There are intermittent problems with the sports "Vector. ". In my opinion, I thought that using a "reed switch" component would be a more efficient way to handle the action A tank's depth is measured after it is drilled. As I compared its color code to my existing harness, I discovered that it was colored in the opposite direction, which I easily detected by using an Ohms meter to confirm which wire connected to In order to verify its performance, I then connected the harness to the unit before installing it in the tank. The fuel gauge showed the expected response when I moved the ring up and down the tube. (Don't forget to turn the ignition key and battery on before proceeding with In an effort to prevent electrical shock, I then switched all the power off before installing the sender. The gasket and the special screws for installation are included in the kit. One of the few annoyances is getting the credit card You must align it in a certain way for the point 'star' screw hole pattern to be correct. It lines up correctly only one way, and it takes a significant amount of trial and error to see the difference, (especially if the gasket has been coated It took me some time to get it right, but I finally did I tightened the fasteners to make the job easier. Having already known the previous sender's reading of the contents of the tank, I was happy with the new sender's reading, although it did not agree with the former one. Approximately 17 cm was measured at the bottom of this tank. A diameter of 5" from the bottom to the top (upside down) Thus, I had to choose this model because it was the closest match (according to the "guide", you should buy 1" shorter than the actual internal tank size). Although, I decided that if this one showed nearing empty "sooner", (due to the extra half inch of fuel level), it would be better than the other, (showing that there is no fuel when actually there is! My recommendation would be to purchase this unit because it appears to be of high quality and comes with everything you'll need in the package to make the replacement simple and easy. It would be a good idea to add silicone or your favorite sealant to the gasket, but it might not be necessary if surfaces are clean and true.

Amazon Prime and my experience with it has been as good as ever
5/5

Amazon Prime and my experience with it has been as good as ever. This needs to be put Please take note that it is extremely important that the location of one of the screws match those on In my case, the screw pattern isn't uniform, nor should it be on the sender being replaced or Right away I was impressed by the stability of the needle on the dash fuel gauge. In order to get the gauge reading to move, some effort must be expended. I have been looking for this over the last several years. The fact that there is no in-built software is what makes it such a great product. Specify the approximate level of fuel in a tank with a tank sending unit. Taking a true reading is as simple as going up and down. If you wish to measure the depth of the sending tank hole, make sure you measure from the bottom to the top. Please include a hole of 1" more if it is a plastic tank (allowance for flexing) and a hole of 1/2" if it is a metal tank. I was able to achieve the best results with this method. I am very pleased so far with the product. Next season, I'll run it through the entire northeast region and report back on how it performs.
