I did not have any success with it in Florida, but it worked really well for me in
It has an overall height of 31 inches and a tube length of 16 inches
There is no better way to catch clams than with the Clam Gun! Stunning! I love it so much!
The truth is that it work for a season, but then it stops. It has lost suction for many years and I have done the same this past It does not hold sand in the tube for some reason that I cannot understand. As a result, after one season, I decided to stop using it. Washington state will have no issue with it, but for how long will the state be able to use it

A gun was ordered from Amazon. com. A part of the handle bent and caved in the first one we received. Everything was in perfect condition in the box. I am sure the person who packaged it had noticed the handle was very badly bent and tweaked (you would think)! My good news is they sent me a free one with no shipping and no charge for it. It appears people are complaining about rust and peeling paint on here. You really are! Do you think you are going to get rust if you drive a steel tube into sand in saltwater? You should buy a steel or aluminum gun if you are that concerned! The paint will wear off quickly when sand is used as sandpaper! If you wish to buy a steel gun, you will need to deal with the rusting process that is accelerated by saltwater. As an alternative, if buying a stainless steel or aluminum gun will make you feel better, pony up. There isn't any difference in how they catch clams.
This gun was mishandled in some way, and I have no idea why. Could it be faulty? It works very well for the first pull up, it pulls everything out, but it doesn't work with subsequent pulls. No matter what we do, neither my husband nor I can figure out why the suction suddenly stops. Despite our efforts to plug the hole on the handle by using gloved hands and bare hands, nothing worked. Almost every time a dig down the same hole was made, the suction would be lost. Considering I have watched a lot of YouTube videos, I feel that clam guns can work just as well with second, third, fourth, and even fifth digs in a The one in question isn't the one here. In the type of sand we dig them in, the Pacific razors tend to be farther down than other razors. I was unable to dig deep enough with this gun since the suction breaks on the third pull up. It completely defeats the purpose of digging razors. I would have been better off starting with a small shovel, as it required less work, and I ended up hand digging every hole. As for the 8 inches, it was already started with this thing. In light of the fact that my son was able to pull up little necks with it and use it in very shallow holes, I gave it three stars instead of two. You can however dig them with your hands in an exposed bed with virtually no effort. Despite this, he did manage to get one streamer clam that wasn't damaged by this method, since they don't dive as deep as pacific razors and their shells are softer. Getting the right scoop is difficult because you need to be super careful not to break them. This one seemed to work with this one. In order to test it effectively, I will need to do it at a different location for steamers. I will update my review when it seems to work well for steamers. In general, I was not pleased with the way this product performed, no razor clams were pulled with this gun, since it was unable to maintain proper suction due to the lack of depth that could be achieved.
There are a few times when the suction doesn't work and you have to get your suction just right to get the clam, but it still beats using a shovel almost every time when it comes to efficiency and not damaging.
Excellent. The blade glides through the sand like a hot knife through If you get a plastic gun you will have to gorilla crawl to get it into the sand. Don't forget to wash it out when you get home, and spray WD-40 to keep it from sticking to the sand. The snoot of the machine is painted with 40 to keep it from rusting, so it should last a long time.

As a first time clammer in California, this is one of the recommended tools, in addition to a shovel and bucket, I thought would be useful so I bought So far, I have only used it once, and it has held up well. My beach cleaning was all over the place, not just plain sand but areas with seaweed embedded sand and even with stones (broken shells). In my opinion, this is what some of the reviewers were complaining about when they said it got scratched A damaged or damaged object. You should not have any problems with it, if you are careful enough and actually use it correctly. I have not experienced any problems with the clam gun after more than 20 attempts. quite heavy, but that is to be expected considering it is PVC or a light/thin metallic one would be a better choice if you are looking for something lighter. My wife loved how easy it was to clean, and the value was great. It is hard to compare the suction power of the cheaper model to the more expensive one since I haven't tried others, however, you can lose suction due to wet sand which means you will have to dig back out what fell out. This review will be updated the next time I use this software. At this point, I would give it a rating of The product is 5 stars at the moment. We recommend it!.
A razor clam works really well with this glam gun, as it indicates in the description. When I used it to clean my gaper and Washington clams, it did the job efficiently and easily. My only caution is that I must be very careful not to crush the shell or any other object with my clam gun The shell is narrow like that of a This gun also works better for ground with muddy texture and not so well for ground with rocky/gravel Although it saved me a lot of time digging with shovels, I would still recommend it for anyone who wants to go clamming. Last but not least, it is made from steel with a paint coating on its outer layer, which means if the paint is removed, the gun will actually rust.
I have had no problems with my vacuum breaker. I found that after three or four inches of pulling the clam will break the suction, then slide effortlessly out. Once I feel that I am hitting the clam, I begin pulling up, while plugging the vacuum hole, and the clam is lifted and pulled up to my chest. It is impossible to break the shell of the clam if it's good enough up in the air to grab it out. A little longer handle would definitely be helpful for a taller person I am 5'4" and I need to bend just a little at the knees to use it comfortably. In the vacuum hole there is no plug, but I find taping and rinsing keep the chamber free of sand without much effort. It is heavier than aluminum models but the extra weight makes pushing easier, freeing up.
