This product is horrifically ineffective. I read another review in which the customer said he didn't know what it was, but it was not what he was used to. Blue baby oil is the best description I can give. There is nothing to clean with it. My reels or hands were not softened by it, nor was it able to dissolve even light grease. Even if it isn't what it is advertised for, I'm sure it is good for something. The results were nil, so the price was way out of line. Specifically designed for cleaning and polishing chrome, with the minor caution that you don't soak chromed items for too long, because this product will eat away at it over time. My vintage beer signs have also been freed up with this method by freeing up seized bearings. In just a few sprays, a bearing that had almost stopped turning can be made to turn The old grease on the units was completely removed by a shake in a jar with this stuff. THESE GUYS DON'T ACCEPT Sadly, I found out this afternoon as I tested it out at the pier that the pump does not work. If you want to squeeze it, you will have to push it back out. My first thought is that I should do a return, but this SOB does not accept The person you are dealing with is not worth it.
There is no better cleaner than this one. I have cleaned a few vintage reels with it. I have cleaned drags that were stuck together from decades of neglect with this cleaner, and after soaking them in this, I was able to separate them. I am not sure if a sprayer bottle is the best type of container for this, but it still works well. It might be better to have a large needle oiler bottle or something similar. Most of the time, all I have to do is squirt out a few drops of this cleaner each time (not a full squeeze as you might think) and that should be Normally, I would apply it by wiping down with a cloth, Q- It is also possible to wash it with a paper towel or a fingertip first, so a sprayer would not be beneficial. In my experience, I have used less than an eighth of the bottle to clean 10 reels' drags. I think this will last me for at least a couple of years at this pace.
It is unclear if this adds anything extra to the process. As far as I can tell, I haven't seen a major change. After rinsing with fresh water and wiping down our equipment, I dry everything thoroughly. This was the second thing I used after I switched to This seems like an extra step that isn't necessary.
It's important to find a cleaner that doesn't just remove old grease but also cuts through it Reels can be cleaned with vinegar - it is safe on every part of the It did come with a spray nozzle, but I ended up breaking it before I could use it on the This now allows me to transfer my reel cleaner over to a larger needle oiler bottle so I can apply it to the reel where I want it, which will probably make my 16 ounce reel cleaner. Many years can be gotten out of a bottle.
