Questions & Answers

What is the diameter of the outer hole and the diameter of the inner hole on these?

The outer diameter is 70mm, which is equal to two inches. 3/4in. The inner diameter is 18mm, which is slightly less than 3/4in. They appear to be the same size as all of the other tenkara line holders I've received.

Can these be used on saltwater Spanish rigs with 20' or 30 pound lines? Is it possible to have just one line?

On the REGULAR size, it should be able to hold that rig with ease.

They do the job, but they're quite large

Only speaking for myself, I prepare anywhere from 5 to 9 pre-event activities. Before I leave the house, I'll have rigged line/tippit/kebari combos. When I get to the creek, I'll have a variety of fly/line combinations to choose from. Each combination is placed in its own plastic bag, which I keep in my vest pocket. They don't have any weight. Except for the fact that they're bulky, these Tenkara line holders do a good job. I went with the larger size because it has less line memory. They have a lot of slots around the edges for hooking your line and a nice bar across the middle for hooking your fly out of the way while still being able to see it when you're done. They're not too heavy.
BUT. br>They're too big for my small plastic bags. Other line holders in my collection are smaller, softer, and asymmetrical (so they don't roll away from you when dropped). They don't have a bar on which to hook your fly, but you can spear the side of the holder with the fly as the first step in winding your combo, so it's not a big deal. br>FINAL THOUGHTS. br>These are the second most popular line holders. If I had to do it all over again, I'd start with the beginning. If you order them, I recommend starting with a small size; these are MUCH better than the plain rubbery ones.

For tenkara fishing, this is an excellent line holder. After a few uses, the plastic will begin to peel away. Will recommend getting something more solid. 2 plastic pieces attached to the foam roll.

I've tried a lot of different line holders, and these are by far the best. The large diameter reduces memory, makes clipping the line into the slots a breeze, and ensures that the fly is held correctly.

These are great and save me time when I'm setting up my duel fly tippet setup. I attach a tippet ring to my leader and a size 1 clip to my tippet, and voila, you're ready to go fishing.

The line holders are a huge improvement over the standard blue holders that most people are used to. Holder for hooks- check, it's simple to hold on to- light weight - check check. They come highly recommended from me, and I've given them to tenkara fishing friends.
