I'm using this line to make king salmon leaders with sliding double hooks. It's ideal for tying a fluorocarbon leader to a sliding hook. It's abrasion-resistant and has a visible brown color that makes it easy to distinguish between different lines when tying. I also use 30 pound cajun line, which is a bright red and perhaps a little easier to tie.
Because I was unable to ask the question and receive an answer, I have no idea if this is old inventory or "not. " I still need to test and try out the line.
I've been using Maxima for steelhead for a long time and recently switched to fluorocarbon. What a colossal blunder! I returned to Maxima not long after. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice. Fish can't see the line because it's tough. When I returned to it, my catch rate improved.
The best fishing line on the market. On 8 pound test, I've caught catfish and stripers up to 30 pounds with no problems and am confident that the line will hold. The strength of the knots is very good.
It's wonderful to come across a product that lives up to your expectations.
It's a fantastic line that I particularly enjoy using in rivers.
The only disadvantage is that it frays fairly easily.
