oh yeah. Snakes aren't going to stand a chance! Install it with a 5' handle at the very least in case you miss your target.
It most certainly would. I also work as a five-prong frog. This one is far superior to the previous one. To get a bigger area, I bent the prongs out a bit. The points are very sharp. It's what I use in my pond at night for gigging gar. We've also caught a couple of snakes.
Purchase a broomstick pole from your local hardware store. It's all good.
As water seeps into the spaces between the sections, no will gradually sink. You'd have a few seconds to grab it if you dropped it while wade fishing because it wouldn't sink like a solid metal rod. I drilled a hole in the handle end and used a small foam float made from a pool noodle to run some para cord through it.

I'm not sure how this thing works for frogs or fish, but it worked great for those pesky moles that were tearing up my yard! I'll try it at the lake once I get rid of those little monsters! Alternatively, sanitize it and use it to roast hotdogs and marshmallows over an open fire; either way, five stars!.
The welding appears to be of very high quality. This item appears to be of high quality. At the joints, there are good welds. Quite acute. There are a lot of barbs in a circle. This gig is bigger than a frog gig. With this Gig, I'd take on a snake and/or any large fish. I'd like to mount it on an Hawaiianbr>sling for a larger coverage area and better giged fish or snake retention. With an Hawaii sling (a rubber band-powered pole), I've done a lot of underwater gigging. This Gig is better built and welded than any other I've used before.
"4. ," according to the description. Stainless Steel Fishing Gig Gaff, 8' Retractable Telescopic Pole". A retractable telescopic pole is shown in this illustration. br>There isn't even a pole included.
The spear was completely destroyed the first time it was used on a fish. Two prongs have actually snapped off, and the other five have become so bent that they can no longer be used. After catching a single fish. What a knucklehead. BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE!.
The show itself appears to be well-made. However, I only gave it one star because the description is misleading! It gives the impression that it is carrying the shaft! THIS IS NOT THE CASE! However, it states that you can get it for an extra $20.
One of the spear heads that came with the handle was also included. In the Texas bays, it will be used for flounder gigging. I'm overjoyed to have found both, because what's available for gigging around here is thin-walled aluminum tubing with tiny light wire gig points. This is a much more solid structure with thicker walls. Rust/corrosion resistant alloys, as well as locks that can be adjusted to any length with a simple twist. This is high-end performance equipment.
The extendable stick appeals to me, but I'm not sure it's sturdy enough. When it's extended, I also find it difficult to keep it tight.
I mounted it on a seven-foot piece of three-quarter-inch-diameter PVC tube by drilling out a threaded plug end cap and double-securing it with a small bolt; I haven't used it yet, but it appears to be sturdy enough to handle snakes and small fish. I'll give it a try on some 3 foot gar soon, but I'm not sure if it'll hold up without breaking.
