Yeah, I see that. There is no way snakes can survive! Be sure that this is installed with at least a 5’ handle just in case you miss your target
That would certainly be the case. As well as the 5-prong frog gig, I have a 4-prong gig. It's a lot better than the previous one. It actually helped to bend the prongs out more so that there would be a wider opening. A sharp point is present. During the night, I use it in my pond for gigging gar. As well as catching snakes, we have caught a few birds.
You can buy a broomstick pole at a hardware store. I'm pleased with the results
There should not be a handle attached to it

My yard was tearing up by pesky moles! Maybe after I eradicate those little critters I will try it at the lake. I don't know how it works for frogs or fish, but it works fine for my yard! It would also be great if it was sanitized and then straightened out so it could be used for hot dogs and marshmallows on the campfire.
It looks like the welding was done very well. Item looks like it is of high quality. There were good joints welded together. This is a very sharp knife. In a circular pattern, there are many barbs. A frog gig that covers more terrain than just frogs. It would be easy to catch snakes with this gig or big fish with it. It is appropriate to mount the giged fish or snake on an Hawaiian sling for greater coverage area and retention of fish or snakes. My Hawaii sling (pole with rubber bands connected to it) has been used for tons of under water gigging. Compared to any Gig I have ever used, this one is better made and welded.
A spear head goes with the handle of the spear, too. A flounder gig will be held in Texas bays with this boat. Thank goodness for both since what we usually see around here for gigs are lightweight, thin wall aluminum tubing and tiny little gig points made of light wire. There are thicker walls and a lot more solidity to it The locking system is rust and corrosion resistant, and it is able to lock up to whatever length you wish. There's no denying the quality of this.
The leaf vacuum was purchased so I could pick up leaves in my yard. I had to file the barbs off before I could I found it to be effective.
That the prongs were arranged in a circular pattern was a surprise to me. I expected it to be a little heavier than it was. Snakes will be the target of this.
I got it for my son, he is 9yrs old, we placed the 8mm frog gig on the end and fit perfectly. He uses it very easily I would recommend this product for.
I think that it is appropriate to not really test the pole. As much as possible, the fence should be three feet longer. We will provide an updated review after exposing this to our brackish water. It can be a tricky gig for nervous frogs.
