Yes, it can be used for flat lines and as a downrigger release line. Check the line pressure release based on the baits you're going to use! br>Extremely tight lines!
There are two of them!
As promised, I received one. A gift must have been given to the person who received two!
Personally, I don't see why you couldn't, but I see no reason why you couldn't. It should be fine as long as it's a thicker braid; I usually wrap a rubber band around my mono, so I'd do the same with the braid and place the rubber band in the release clip. The quality of hookups has vastly improved.
Selected User Reviews For AFTCO Roller Troller Flat Line Release Clip
The flat trolling lines on the corners of my boat's transom are held in place with these roller clips. It's nice and smooth, and it's simple to adjust. The only minor concern is that they may scratch the gelcoat while not in use. I recommend covering the clip and any other metal parts that are easily accessible with shrink tubing and leaving the rest to chance.
This product is clearly stated as a PAIR 2 units in the ask a question section! I bought it because it was a PAIR, and I only got one. If I had only gotten one, I would not have bought it. Clearly, this is a deceptive statement!.
It does exactly what it says it will do to keep the lines from tangling.
I've tried two other brands and they're not even close. On the clip, there is a wheel that allows you to adjust the amount of pressure required to snap the line out. I've secured the clip to the bracket that secures the reel to the rod, and it's working perfectly.
It's quite effective.
It's aftco, and it's the perfect flat line clip.
There is no need to drill holes in the hull because it works perfectly on my aft cleats.
The best flatline release clips on the market.
