The gap is 5 inches wide, and the distance between the top of the hook and the handle is also 5 inches. This item is of excellent quality and should last a lifetime.

You're ready to go with a perfect gaff. This thing is big and badass. The tip cover, on the other hand, is a farce. It's ridiculously ineffective, but you can cover the razor shop's death-causing tip with some tubing from a hose or something similar. Lol. On the cover, please pardon me! The rest, on the other hand, is fantastic, and that's what matters; just take care of the tip yourself. Smh.
Nothing more needs to be said; Aftco delivers exactly what I expect. Nothing but the best will do.
A few weeks ago, I went fishing and lost a 35-pound catfish. At the boat, pound mahi. I bought it the next day and went out the following weekend to catch a really nice wahoo. It has a good reach, feels good in the hand, and is well-made.
Anodized Aluminum Handle with Stainless Gaff in Excellent Condition - The point is extremely sharp, so proceed with caution. When the Tip is not in use, it is best to cover it with a small piece of rubber hose. I would strongly suggest it. It's easy to handle thanks to the foam rubber grips.
It is well-made. Instead of the small plastic cover, I should have come with a built-in protector (for which I docked one star).
What a blunder. There is no substitute for Aftco quality.
Product of excellent quality; it performs admirably. Large game fish will love it. No problems using it on three bluefin tuna.
