This is one of my favorite blunders. Alaska halibut is my primary source of protein. It has a low drag coefficient, making it extremely fast and precise in the water. It doesn't take much force to stick a fish, and it keeps them there for a long time. I've used it successfully on halibut up to 80 pounds. The 6' is ideal for catching them before they hit the ground.
What a brilliant blunder. Forget about how light it is and how well it is made; the handle is incredible and perfectly suited for its intended use. Have you ever had a cheap rubber handle fall off the shaft at the last possible moment? That won't be an issue with this, and the handle is long enough to accommodate both short and long grips. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I have no doubt that this is a one-of-a-kind tool that is well worth every penny. Simply purchase!.
👍. Gaffs of exceptional quality.
This blunder is absolutely hilarious. It's well-made and performs admirably. It was only used for one day, but it managed to catch a few fish in the 20-minute time frame. With ease, I was able to lift up to 30 pounds. It has a low water resistance and allows for quick targeting and hooking of fish. I would strongly advise spending a few extra dollars to obtain this gaff.
This gaff was used to land pacific halibut weighing up to 260 pounds.
Excellent gaff with a firm grip and a sturdy pole with a high-quality hook. My previous gaff had foam grips and failed me when it slipped through my fingers while attempting to land a large Cobia. I'll never use one again. This is a fantastic Gaff.
In the Pacific Northwest, where I fish albacore, I bought two of these, one 4 feet long and the other 4 feet long with a 4-foot tail. a 6-foot hook with a 3-inch hook, and a 6-foot hook with a 3-inch inch. The 3- I prefer the inch hook, and the six-foot reach is ideal for my needs. Both of these gafs are fantastically well-made, and everyone wishes they had them.
What a blunder!.
