From Opinel, I own both Yatagan and straight styles and found the Yatagan style to be The tool worked well for cutting 1/4-inch thick material While it would work great for 1/4-inch tree roots, it was awkward to use and too sharp for bushes. I think it would do a nearly as good job for bushes and shrubs. The branches should be no stiffer than 1/2 inch if they are not It is better to collect cuttings with a pair of snips rather than with a
We recommend you exchange it for a new one. The screws on mine have a virobloc spacing of about 1/8 inch and they work themselves loose very I usually lock my Opinel straight blade to keep it locked and its blade has a minimum of 1/4 inch between the teeth.
I also find mine does not fold like other Opinels, either because the virobloc is too small, or the blade does not enter far enough into the handle. Maybe we got a knockoff instead of the real thing. This is the only Opinel knife I have that does not lock when folded. I have other Opinel knives that all lock correctly.

Saw the curved blade getting in the way when branches were too close together when I bought the knife for pruning. Despite being sharp, the knife did not lock in when it was cut away from someone. I needed to clear some palm tree roots while repairing a sprinkler line, and found this curved knife to be very effective at cutting through dirt and hacking the roots of queen palms. The benefit of using this knife to cut roots (up to 1/2 inch in diameter) is that soil doesn't have to be cleared first and then shears or a lopper can be used This is a review update Interestingly enough, my knife locks, but only when I twist the Virobloc counterclockwise it does not lock in the open position. I found the Yatagan style to be very useful for pruning and root cutting, but it was awkward to trim/prune, for example, removing unripened fruit.
Basically, the serpette #10 is a smaller version of the serpette Having a cold. From the moment the blade emerged from the package, it was razor sharp Using a razor sharpens This is in keeping with my expectations for Safety is ensured by blunting the tip. There is no lock in the closed position as there is on Serpette #8. It locks in an open position, but it cannot be closed. It is not easy for the blade to accidentally dislodge from the wooden handle since it is very snug within. Unless you choose a blade with a 60 degree grind, it's going to throw a terrific shower of sparks when you hit it with.
In the image you can see the locking part does not function when the hinge is in the CLOSED position, unlike with real Opinels. The notch at the blade's back and the lock are at a distance from one another when the blade is folded. The blade of this Opinel does not end at a sharp point, as is the case with other Opinels. My Opinels are still sharp. They aren't as sharp as my other Opinels, but they can be used. Even when it comes to an Opinel, it's way below average in terms of folding knives. In any case, I dislike the one you're looking at.
This was ordered so I could use it to cut out diseased spores from an old tree that I was trying to save after seeing one similar in a YouTube video I had I saw this one on Amazon when I searched for it based on the video I saw. I was very pleased to find it since an expert had mentioned that it was the right size, etc. As far as what I needed was concerned, it worked perfectly. I find it very sharp, but it is designed in a way so as.
Here is a summary of what the description mentions Despite the fact that the knife I received locks in the open position, it does not lock when the blade is closed. The friction is holding the lid in place. There may be nothing wrong with this, but the description does not reflect how it is used.
I really like this thing since it has a razor sharp blade and is top.
It has always been my opinion that Opinel makes a great product at a reasonable price. I wanted to have something that I could pull when I cut For cutting both my comfrey heads and cabbage heads, I really like this. You should be careful because it is extremely sharp and twist the lock in place before you use it. Now I just have to figure out how to sharpen it appropriately when it is dull.
