Because I am a pilot, This review may or may not apply to other types of fishing. On my most recent fishing trip, these gloves came in handy. They were comfortable to wear wet or dry, and they kept my fingers from rubbing against the line as I stripped it in. They also increased the safety of handling trout. The only issue is that I now have yet another item to keep track of and remember to wear. Making the tab for pulling on the gloves into a loop so it can be secured with a glove retainer is one suggestion. I'm concerned that removing a glove to tie on a new fly could result in an irreversible loss of one into the water. Last but not least, after handling fish, wash (or at the very least rinse) your hands. After a couple days of basting in my fishing bag, I was rushed and neglected to do so after our last day of fishing (my fault), and the gloves had a terrible odor. That was remedied by a thorough cleaning. The odor was retained by the imitation leather that helped grip the fish (my son's gloves were made of fabric and did not have the same issue).
The sizing chart for these is a complete fabrication. I took the suggested measurement and came up with just over 8 inches, putting me in the XL category. I'm a 5'6" girl, so I knew I wouldn't be able to wear an xl glove. I purchased a large, assuming they were sized for a smaller demographic, such as European or Asian sizes. The colossal remains colossal. In addition, the pad between the pointer and thumb crease - That's where I get blisters - is located in an incorrect location. This could be because of a sizing problem. I'm extremely dissatisfied; why include a sizing chart if it's completely inaccurate?.
I like these gloves a lot. They are comfortable to wear and provide a lot of dexterity for your fingers. They are breathable due to the thin material. The leather has a good grip and isn't too bulky. I bought these to protect myself from overexposure to the sun and, hopefully, to avoid mosquito bites on my hands while fishing. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, though I wish they were a little longer on the wrist.
I bought a pair of blue fishing gloves for myself and my boyfriend. However, we could still feel the prickling of the fish's scales through our skin. This defeats the purpose. . . these are designed to be light. We like how the finger tips are exposed and that we can move them around freely. It's a lot easier to set up our poles now that we don't have to take off our gloves. They're also simple to take care of. br>I'd return these because they're not thick enough and don't keep us from being pricked, but the return window has already passed. It rained and stormed for nearly 5 weeks in Massachusetts. We were unable to go fishing as a result of this. We've been stuck with them for a long time now. At the very least, they weren't outrageously priced.
It's almost as if you're not aware that you're wearing them. It's ideal for fishing and handling fish without the need to put on and take off gloves. I'm sure it provides excellent UV protection for hands, but I bought it primarily to help me remove fish from my hook. You pull up a lot of sunfish where I fish in between nice bass and catfish. The gloves help you get a good grip on a catfish so you can release it without harming it, and they help you get a good grip on a catfish so you don't get stuck.
I took a chance because they were the cheapest gloves I liked. When I use my cork-handled fly rod, I develop blisters for some reason. The gloves are well-made and extremely comfortable to wear. I wore them for a total of about 7 hours on two different fishing days. There were no blisters or sunburn on my hands. The quality and appearance are excellent. The large was a perfect fit for me, snug but not too tight. Only cool water was used to wash them by hand. So far, there have been no issues. I'm hoping the quality and price don't change; I might buy another pair and try out their fishing shirt; I'll update the review if that happens.
These are the gloves you'll want if you paddle a lot. Blisters are no longer an issue, and hand fatigue is reduced! I would suggest it to anyone.
It's both comfortable and attractive. I use them to mow my lawn, which takes about 1 minute. After 5 hours, there is no evidence of tanning or sunburn (Florida location). The S/M was a good fit for me, as I usually wear a small or medium in women's sizes. Initially, an XL was delivered in error, but when I reported it and requested a refund and return, they quickly offered to correct the situation, and I received the correct size within a day. I just delivered the larger size to UPS.
