That is not the case.
"It's wind resistant," my wife says.
I bought the medium jacket because I usually wear a small to medium top. I tried on a friend's small jacket, which fit, but I didn't think it had enough room for seasonally appropriate clothing. There is enough space and length for me in the medium. The sleeve length is just right. For you, it's most likely a large size.
I ordered a L in the sea foam color, and it was too small for me. I reordered the pink in an xl size, and it's huge. I tried on a different style from this company in a ladies medium, which allowed me to wear a fleece underneath it. The sizing does not correspond to the size of the person wearing it.

As a result, this jacket is extremely appealing. I really like the color. I'd say it runs true to size; I ordered a size up because I'll be layering underneath it on backpacking trips. The hood and waist can be cinched down to keep out those driving cloudbursts, which I really like. The hood is roomy, and there is a Velcro stay near the back of your head if you need to adjust it. I've had several rainy days to put it to the test, and it keeps me dry. Things I don't like: The Velcro along the zipper catches on everything and can make zipping the bag up quickly a chore. While I appreciate that it isn't made of that plasticky material that people will notice when you walk by, I believe their claims that it is breathable are a bit of a stretch. Because I live in the Pacific Northwest, I always bring a rain jacket with me when I go for walks. Even though it wasn't raining that day, I chose to wear my jacket because of the wind protection. When I returned home and went to take off my jacket, it felt damp, which I found strange given that it wasn't raining. So I felt the jacket and discovered that the dampness was condensation buildup on the inside! Call me crazy, but isn't that what a breathable jacket is supposed to prevent? So I'll keep using it, but I'll have to abandon my search for the ideal rain jacket.
I bought this about 6 months ago and have enjoyed it on the few occasions that I have used it. Today, however, I went outside in the rain and got soaked from head to toe. Rain had gotten into the seam between the coat and the hood that runs around the back of the neck. Because of all the waterproofing the coat provided, the tape has come away (along with a portion of the lining), and I may not have worn it at all. I'm so disappointed because it was breathable in my hot climate, so I didn't sweat too much in it. It had been the ideal coat for me prior to this.
I bought this rain jacket for our trip to Ireland because, given the time of year, the weather could turn cold, windy, and rainy at any time, and it did! Knowing that I'd be wearing layers on some days, I ordered a size up in the jacket. Even on the rainiest of days, the rain jacket kept me completely dry. days with a strong wind This rain jacket comes highly recommended from me.
This jacket has made me ecstatic! With temperatures in the lower 30s, I've been able to walk my dog in Northeast Ohio. I layered underneath, and this jacket keeps me toasty warm. Because this jacket traps sweat, I wear moisture-wicking layers underneath it. Both rain and wind were kept out by the jacket.
When I tried it on, however, the velcro on the top of the zipper prevented me from zipping it up, and I had to rearrange the zipper. That, however, was not a deal breaker for me. The thing I didn't like about it was that I have long hair, and the velco would catch on it, so I had to return it because I realized the snagging issues would annoy me in real life if I wore it. This, I'm sure, is only a problem for people who have long hair that isn't pulled back. br>Things I was fond of. The hood is a good size, the fit is good, the length is good (low hip area), the velcro on the wrists is good, and the color is great.
Jacket! This was purchased for a pending camping trip, but I recently had the opportunity to test it out. It didn't feel like a reusable shopping bag to me, which I appreciated. I liked that it had pockets, a bottom cord that could be adjusted, velcro adjustable wrist closures, and a hood big enough to fit a ball cap. It was a terrible storm but all areas of my body protected by this jacket were 100% dry! It's lightweight and airy. Despite the fact that it is summer, I did not sweat while wearing this jacket. I wasn't doing any heavy lifting; all I wanted to do was feel like I had in other waterproof jackets. moist, claustrophobic, and entrapped With the Frog Toggs jacket, this was not the case. Because of my broad shoulders, I usually wear an xxl top, so I was hesitant to order the xl size in this jacket. It fits perfectly over clothing while still leaving plenty of room for the shoulders. I'd place another order!.
I like the jacket, but the velcro and zippers aren't my favorite design features. The zippers on the outside are simply not well placed. They unzip fine, but it's nearly impossible to zip them up without using two hands, which necessitates some kind of gymnastics to cross over and down over your body. The layout is simply bizarre. As others have mentioned, the velcro catches on everything, and snaps on the sides of the front zipper, as well as the sleeves and pockets, would have been preferable. I'm not sure I'd order something with these design elements again. THAT SAID, it does a good job of repelling water and wind.
I bought this to wear over my bulkier clothes for football games, and I'm glad I got the right size (1 size up from my usual size). It's only a smidgeon heavier than I anticipated, but I've worn it through summer thunderstorms without overheating. The material is extremely durable and keeps me dry, as well as keeping me warm during football season (due to its wind resistance). I'm a big fan of the pockets with zippers: One on each side, and one in the breast. It's possible to tighten the hood and bottom. The only drawback is the lack of a visor on the hood. Even that small, fake visor you see on other brands would be useful for me because I wear glasses. Baltimore football fans will love the purple color I chose.
