The item is of excellent quality. With the goose down liner zipped in, I wear an XL and it's a little tight in the shoulders. Even with two medium-weight fleece shirts layered underneath, Snug isn't too hot. If you're going to be active, it'll be too warm, but for ice fishing or winter wildlife photography, where you won't be moving around much, this coat is ideal.
It was extremely hot, almost to the point of being uncomfortable. However, if you're just hanging out, you should be fine.
I really like the jacket. I ordered a large, which was a little too big, but it still fits and I don't mind.
In Canada and Northern Minnesota, this is our go-to coat for cold-weather ice fishing. My son and I have been wearing the coat and bibs for three years and are very pleased with them. They've done a fantastic job so far. I agree with some of the other reviewers that if you move around a lot while wearing them, they can get very hot very quickly. They will keep you warm in the cold and wind if you don't move around much. My younger sibling- We don't mind the extra weight of the liners in the bibs and coat because he thought they were too heavy for him.
