This is not a heavyweight vest, rather one that's light and thin.

Selected User Reviews For Anglatech Fly Fishing Vest Pack for Trout Fishing Gear and Equipment, Adjustable Size for Men and Women

The quality is decent, but the size is outrageous! I'm a fly-fisherman who weighs 170 pounds, and I'm 5'8" With 30+ years of experience in the water, I am a professional fisherman
3/5

previous vest (a Guide-Series) was ruined it had been sewed so many times that it had broken, the Velcro strips had fallen off, the barb wire had ripped it, it was stained, and it was finally time to replace it. Fly fishermen, however, are attached to what they've used, and that's the standard. This GS did a great job but we will burn it in honor of his service. A fire broke out in the backyard, so I ordered four vests to compare, choose one, and return the others for a small fee. This is something I don't normally do - I usually order one, try it on, and decide what I like from it. At the end of the day, this decision is crucial. The comparison I made was as follows 1 *br A fly fishing vest packed in this Anglatech fly fishing vest pack*. It is a Fishpond Wasatech Pack, version 3. It is the Fishpond Range Tech Pack that includes 4 garments. It includes * A Simms Guide Vest* A Fly Fishing Vest Pack from Anglatech I was skeptical about buying this deal because it's cheap - I mean a bargain. It seems that the quality is decent, and I find that the pockets are plenty big, except that I cannot fit my largest phone in the pockets. A tight fit was found in the F box 5" by 4". It measures 5"x1". Five inch)" Despite its lightweight nature, it is durable. It would be great if all vests came with a water bottle holder - seriously, why isn't this on every vest? However, I worry that when stripping you line will get caught on the bottle - a risk I am The size is There is no way this thing will fit any size. I'm 5'8", 170 pounds, not exactly a thin guy, but this thing is giant, even though I cinch up all of the straps as far as they will No other reviewer seems to have mentioned the size of the car. Could this be the most significant factor? Even with 5 fly boxes in the vest, it was still too big for someone my size. I even tried putting 6 in there to expand the space and it still seemed too small. The dangling part could make it work, but I don't trust it. I like the pop down work areas, however I dislike moving flies into the foam holders included since I like my own boxes. Therefore, the pop down function is useless for me. There is a foam holder that you can remove, but only from 4" x 6" 8" by 1" 2") fit into While I would still use the forceps holder, I would still use a zinger to keep them from falling out, so I wouldn't need it as much. My personal view is this The file is too large. Return it! The Fishpond Wasatech Pack has many similarities to the Fishpond Gore Range, and if you are a big guy, this vest might be the right one for you. There was a price tag attached to this. Fishpond is my most expensive vest, even more than Simms Guide - is that really worth the cost? I find that to be an incredibly The first issue is an incorrect ad - the water bladder shown is not included in the package. The ad does not mention that it is not included, although it does state that it is "Water bladder compatible". What are you expecting to get for nearly 200 dollars? Advertisement needs to be more clear, no bladder should be When I pulled the straps all the way down, I was able to get the dress on pretty well - although the straps were hanging a ridiculously long way out, and would need to be shortened and sewed in place. In the photos you can see five fly boxes that were put in to check the size. It fits well. While I would still use the forceps holder, I would still use a zinger to keep them from falling out, so I wouldn't need it as much. I like the pop down work areas, however I dislike moving flies into the foam holders included since I like my own boxes. Therefore, the pop down function is useless for me. There is a foam holder that you can remove, but only from 4" x 6" 8" by 1" It is a little tougher to reach the handle because it is at a 45-degree angle). Lower the loop so that it is below the surface. You may have trouble reaching your net if the back of your boat has gear in it. You will surely catch your mesh if you are using a nylon mesh net (get a rubber one) because all those zippers back there will catch your mesh when you need your net most. In this vest, the one thing that bothers me the most is the back, it makes the vest bulky and I fear the foam would cause my back to This vest is expensive, but it looks to be very high quality. I will come back after a few outings to update this article. There are three parts to the Fishpond Gore Range Tech Pack The price of this item was also high. I have tried the second most expensive vest of all - actually more expensive than the Simms Guide vest - are you kidding me? I find that to be an incredibly My height is 5'8", 170 pounds, and with all straps all the way down, this is a bit big - although the excess straps are hanging a ridiculously long way out, and I need to cut and sew them to keep them from showing. Plastic clips are not provided to hold the excess straps, as on the Wasatech - they have to be tucked Compared to the Fishpond Wasatech pack the size seems a bit larger. Slim people may have trouble wearing this vest because it will float on them. Also, it is located at the front of the building It may be easier to hang the net on the back if it is heavy. The 5 fly boxes inside appears to be the right size, so I left them in there for testing. While I would still use the forceps holder, I would still use a zinger to keep them from falling out, so I wouldn't need it as much. Its front is similar to the front of this vest (the same? Wasatech pack) as an example. Its flip-down compartments with foam holders don't really suit me, as I am not a fan of that vest As for the foam holders, you can remove them, but I prefer to use own boxes and did not want to move fly larvae to the foam holders, thus removing the pop-down function. This is the only space in which my smallest box 4" x 6" 8" by 1" The vest pack from Anglatech is also 2") tall. One of the biggest concerns I have with this pack is the nylon mesh all over the The odds are low that a fly will embed itself in the woven nylon thread due to an errant cast, making removal difficult (like old nylon net meshes). Fishpond Wasatech has less mesh on the back (hardly any mesh at all). A Wasatech kit was about $40 more expensive than the Tandy, but I decided to go with that -Simms Guide Vest This was also an expensive vest, as you would expect from Simms. It's my third most expensive vest (I bought on sale, so not too bad) but I really love it. It would have been the most expensive if it had been full price. The design was the closest to my old vest. It appears to be of excellent quality. I like the stitching and the neck padding is good. An excellent fit for me was a size medium since I am 5'8" and 170 pounds. Good - Simms actually makes vests in a range of sizes. Putting 5 fly boxes inside to check the size, it seems to be fine. It fits well. It is only about a waist length, so you can wade up to your belly button and the vest would not be wet. Due to this, the vest sits high on your body, making the pockets higher and more difficult to access, especially the inside, highest pockets. My preference is for a vest that is longer with more room, and that is positioned lower. I have reservations about the length, although it isn't a huge issue. There are two zingers built into the vest, which is nice, but they are not as enticing as the coil-type zingers There is a kind of music I don't enjoy. We only provide four loops on the vest to attach other zingers or to hang anything on the vest. There are no loops on the side to hang a water bottle off or to hang anything else on the vest. The back compartment is nice and roomy. Despite its high fit, I was not pleased with this vest, so I returned This vest may be a good option for you if you wade in deep water and have a lot of money to spare.

It's a big hit with Dad! The size of my Dad is 6 feet 2 inches and he weighs 250 pounds
5/5

He has a beer belly and is a big and muscular guy. He might not be able to fit into the one size fits all model. There were about 15 different such vests on Amazon, so I chose this one after reviewing the reviews. The choice I made was the right one! Each side of the trunk is attached to a belt that can be adjusted around the shoulder and around the It was Christmas, so he put it on, adjusted it, and then played with all the A cup holder for his beer is the most appealing feature, but he also likes that there is breathable netting in between so he will not overheat! A win without a doubt.

This is a great price point, and the quality is very good

What a great idea! Okay, so I've been thinking about this for quite some time. I'm an old fart who likes things the way they used to be. Especially for the price, there are not many downsides. When comparing it to the 'fish' brand I like it almost as much. I like this one because it's lighter to wear and it's a bit thinner. It has very comfortable shoulder straps that are well padded. * There is plenty of room for storage, but you still need to get "fish" brand "zingers" if you want to be I think adding a few of those to the vest as it was designed around it would be a good idea. The zingers you add to the end are fine too, but making them part of the attachment is terribly silly. I like the new water bottle holder. It is something we haven't seen before. In addition to holding your sunglasses, it has a hole for a keychain. Heater holder is a great "joke", but we old timers always find a way to make it work. You can use a zinger above it and keep it on it, or there is a loop on the far corner under the armpit, you can use a laces or something like that, and you can pinch the hemostat so that it will not come out. However, I like it and I like the comfort of it. It's a great product at a great price. On the other hand the zipper stinks. You may be able to work around the issue. It works perfectly as a safety pin! An updated version of the 3/16/2017 status report is below Fishing was great, and I am in love with it. There is plenty of room to fit a bunch of stuff in this lightweight and comfortable bag.

The shoulder and waist adjustments are well designed and the price is unbeatable for the quality of this product. The best I could do is give it 10 stars. I highly recommend this book!.

This vest would make a perfect gift for any fly fishing enthusiast
5/5

In consideration of buying a $200 or $140 Simms vest, I chose one that was $140. I trust Simms There is no reason why I can not use their waders or boots, but I had a hard time justifying spending $200 on a vest. In the end, I decided to take the risk. The test of durability is yet to come, but man will be the judge. Featuring everything a fly fisherman could possibly need, this vest has it all. There are all the pockets at the right place and there is no interference There is a flip pocket on the front for flies. In Colorado, when I was wading through the Eagle River, neither the clamps nor the stupid drink holders spilled a drop of the diet I opened half-full and left unattended. My credit card bill was reduced by $140 and I'm impressed.

Very well made and good value for the price
4/5

The same quality as the fishpond vest but half the cost. A well-made vest with a great price. This vest resembles the Fishpond vest but it's half the price. It includes waterproof pockets and a water bottle holder, which I haven't seen on any other vest. I can barely fit my big cell phone in the waterproof pocket. It is useless to keep a thermostat in its holder. Hemostat was attached to a zinger, and the zinger was tucked into the side loop near the front buckle and held there vertically. It's hard for me to reach the net loop on the back because it's low. If this loop was higher up on my neck, I would find it more comfortable. It is nice to have fly foam benches, but the middle isn't glued down, so the foam slides around which makes it hard to secure flies on top. A few flies fell from the foam, and we lost them. One is removable, so I removed it so I could store a small fly box within it. The new vest replaced my old Simms guide vest. However, it would have been nice if the new vest had pockets instead of mesh pockets and zingers built in. Tippet and leader packs, as well as larger objects, can be securely held in the mesh pockets, which have elastic bands on the top. Alternatively, I will drop used fly spit and spit shot in the small pockets.
