L is recommended if you plan on going over your clothes.
It should work just fine if you choose large.
XXL would be a good choice for me.
It is waterproof and windproof, and is made of a rather sturdy material, so I did not get wet.

The look was completed with sweats and thermals!.
I can wear this thing over my clothes and it keeps me dry. I bought a L because I weigh 200 pounds and am 5'7". I wore the shirt to work on the first day, but the zipper broke. Despite a lack of buttons, I wasn't too put out by the item, but just be prepared for something extremely poorly made, probably created by enslaved children.
The fit is good. I got a larger size to wear a sweatshirt It could be stitched better where the zip is attached to the coat at the bottom, because a couple of stitches ripped once when I bent over quickly with my right leg.
I was able to stay dry and it fit great. There is something warm about this. . . which I didn't need, but it would make a great winter coat.
There is no doubt that it is a waterproof product, rather thick and heavy but it does the job nicely. This product is a good value for the price.
Currently, the one I have does not rip as soon as I move about. This means he is big.
This was so great when it was windy and rainy in Iceland! Got this to layer over other clothes and it worked great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the hood is kind of shallow and stores away in the A rain jacket might seem like a good place to stash the hood. Why?.
