Outside diameter of 1 inch pvc pipe; however, 3/4 inch pvc pipe is needed because the outside diameter of 1 inch pvc pipe is not available.
I'm not sure what other people use as a size. I used two 5*11s on each side of the Kayak and they worked perfectly. The floats are about three feet long and three feet wide. 5' to 4'.
Yes, these have a straight through hole in the middle.
No, I ordered two sets, which arrived in a single box.

I purchased this product with the express intent of not using it for its intended purpose. It was a success, as evidenced by the photographs. I made a canoe stabilizer out of 1/2" galvanized pipe; the holes are slightly larger than 1/2" pipe, so 3/4" pipe would have required a large hammer and some convincing. The float on 1/2" pipe has very little play. br>br>It's still in the early stages of development, but the stabilizer could be made in any size. You should go out further from the canoe for better stability, but because the rivers I travel on can get quite narrow, I found that staying closer was preferable. I canoe with my dog and a variety of beverages quite frequently. After a few drinks and a few miles down river, the canoe's stability is called into question. This is just the right amount of support to keep me standing. Thank you for floating in the deep water. This one is dedicated to you.
I purchased two pairs to use as outriggers for my kayak. They have a hole running through them, which is difficult to see in the photo. With some elbow grease, a 3/4" piece of PVC will fit through.
I bought two sets of two floats, giving me a total of four floats. I was looking for a way to make DIY kayak stabilizers, and these floats were the answer. Because the hole in the middle of each float was too small for the 3/4" PVC pipe I planned to use for my kayak stabilizers, I heated an old shower curtain rod several times and inserted it into the float until the foam inside melted to the larger diameter I required. These are the floats you'll need to construct pontoon stabilizers for your kayak.
Outriggers were made with these and 3/4-inch pvc. 2 floats on each side, then black flex seal was applied. These items perform admirably. Kayak wasn't very stable before, but now it feels like no matter what I did, I wouldn't be able to flip it. Which is good because I'm new to kayaking and fishing from it, so I don't have to worry about leaning too far for a fish or dumping my gear into a lake. That is what I used them for, and it 100% was 100% worth it.
In case you're wondering, these are made of styrofoam with a high density. They're difficult. They are a little hefty and do not dent easily. I was afraid they'd be the standard low density type, so I'm glad they weren't. Flotation is excellent. These two, tethered to a bucket with my foot-operated, 2-inch suction hose, work great. I'll most likely get a few more for some fish traps. It is highly recommended.
These were perfect for pontoons in my kayak. The price was reasonable, and the delivery time was quick.
One set was of good quality, while the other was not, and they were also of different sizes. The higher-quality one was a salmon color, while the lower-quality one appeared to have been spray painted dark red shortly before being sent out. Paint is dripping down the floats in streaks. This would not be a concern for me unless I was using them for a special occasion. I was rigging a canoe stabilizer and wanted the floats to match. When I first opened the box, I was a little disappointed. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning them and possibly having to deal with the same issue again, so I decided to make the best of the situation and keep them. Apart from the fact that the two sets are not identical, I am pleased with the speed with which they were delivered and the reasonable price. I only wish my canoe had been outfitted with matching sets.
These floats do not correspond to each other, as others have stated. I placed an order for two two-packs. Two floats with two different sizes of holes were included in each package. One hole was about 1 1/8" in diameter, while the other was about 3/4" in diameter. I had hoped to thread a 3/4" PVC pipe through these. One float has a loose piece of 3/4" that won't fit in the other. To get through the other one, I'd have to use 1/2" PVC pipe. I'm still debating whether I want to use two different sizes of pipe, attempt to drill out the smaller hole, or simply return them. I'm fed up! Is it possible that crab fishermen prefer it this way?.
