What is the diameter of the aforementioned hole? Is it possible to pass a 3/8 rope through?
If the float is the same as mine, I mounted it over a 1" aluminum pipe and it fit with some wiggle room. Although a 3/8 rope will fit, the hole is significantly larger. If the rope is slipping through, I recommend gluing a piece of 1" pvc to the inside of the float to prevent the rope from damaging it.
