It fits me perfectly in an XL. It's the same as all my other XL size
As a result of their thickness, they are ideal for backpacking. As far as I know, it's meant to go over a motorcycle helmet and jacket. My purpose requires a different type of jacket from any I have seen or had in the past.
To be accurate, the scale in my kitchen says 18 1/2 ounces or 520 grams.

Waterproof jackets like this are hard to come by. For my grandson, I bought it as a camping item. It's my fault because he is a skinny 16 year old kid I should have sized the shirt (a tad too big), but I should have done that. It has tightening cuffs, so he can wear it over a sweatshirt, then grow into it as he gets bigger. This shirt seems to be true to size. I went up to a large instead of a medium because he is tall and I didn't have time to return it. The best way to avoid being too small is to be too big. This purchase was very satisfactory to me, and I would consider making another one in the future.
This fabric feels as though it is somewhere between a super slick raincoat material and one that feels heavier. I like it because it's not as slick as some, but it's not as heavy as others The fabric has a slight grippiness to it. As a compromise, I think this is terrific. It seems well made and fits nicely, nothing look too slack. I purchased this for my teenage son who goes to his bus early in the morning, sometimes when it is Colors like orange, bright red, and yellow stand out more to me than black, gray, and navy blue. According to the manufacturer, this jacket corresponds to all the manufacturer's claims. I thought the price was right and the quality was good. The size was a little large on me I ordered a medium, which is what I normally wear, but in my case it would have been better to order a size small. I received the first jacket less than 2 months after it was shipped. The zipper failed soon after The zipper gave way on the second jacket about 6 weeks after receiving it. I returned it for a replacement. The third time I attempted to return, I had a 5 week window, but finally my attempt to return failed in the 6th week from the 3 month window. Unfortunately, I cannot use this service.
If you can help it, do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase this item! You will not be able to keep it up forever.
I was pleased with this jacket and it was more than I thought it would be. In spite of that, there was only one color I could get in a large size (3 XL), so I got that. This is a good jacket however, it is a bit tight around the waistband and you have to hike it up to allow the zipper to start, then you have to pull it down again. The rest of the outfit fits well. It might be big enough for extra layers if there was a 4 XL option available.
A little over a year of mild use and the whole interior is peeling to the point where the cloths look as if they have paint chips all over them. While it does get hot here, I have never had any issues wearing my other rain jackets.
