The material on most of these less expensive umbrellas is very thin, so I doubt they provide any UV protection, even if they claim they do.
Because mine did not have this issue, I am unable to provide you with any advice. However, to close the umbrella, I grab the ring that holds the staves and pull it down towards the handle while pressing the button.

Auto- Open works well because it is lightweight, can withstand moderate winds, and can cover two people if necessary. It dries quickly and is the best full-size umbrella I've ever owned at this price point. I'd like to see a more solid, less squishy grip, more color options, and if they made a model with a 3M reflective strip around the perimeter, I'd be willing to pay more.
Because of the negative reviews, I was hesitant to order this. However, I've come to the conclusion that some people simply do not know how to care for their possessions. Order a Davek of NY umbrella if you want the highest quality umbrella available. You'll pay 10 to 15 times as much for this umbrella, but the Davek should be able to withstand a hurricane. In the event of a hurricane, this umbrella will fly away. However, if you know how to manage your belongings, you'll be fine. To put it another way, you shake the rain off it when you get home, dry it, and then fold it back up properly - It'll last a long time, and I really like it. The colors are very appealing to me. However, I regret not purchasing the 68-inch model. Isn't it true that larger is always better?.
I'm not someone who carries a lot of umbrellas. This umbrella is fantastic. I'm not someone who carries a lot of umbrellas. This umbrella, on the other hand, is quite nice. I almost wish our autumn had been wetter so I could have taken advantage of it more. I've used it four times now, including a couple of times with kids. It was difficult to return it to its holder. In comparison to standard umbrellas, this one has a lot of space. It was a good investment.
I'd give 0 stars if I had the option. These umbrellas came in threes for me. One of them wouldn't open, so I sent it back for a new one. I returned the replacement because it would not open. The narrow ribs on the two remaining umbrellas have broken, and neither can close. I intended to use these umbrellas to shade some delicate plants, but after being opened and closed five times, they must now be discarded. 6 times. I have four other umbrellas from a different manufacturer that I've been using for over a year to shade plants. These Zekar umbrellas are a nightmare to use. It was a waste of money.
