I bought an umbrella over a year ago, and the'spokes' have started to come loose, causing the umbrella to collapse. I contacted UV Blocker, but no response was received. I used to be a loyal customer who would recommend the umbrella to friends, but after my recent experience, I will no longer do so. The umbrellas are costly, so before you spend your money, make sure you read the one-year warranty; after that, you have no choice. br>br>Since I bought a new umbrella to replace my broken one, I'm returning it and receiving a refund. I'm not going to waste my money on a product that the company isn't willing to back up.

When it's hot and sunny outside, I jog with this umbrella, and I love how it keeps the sun off of my head, shoulders, and arms. I've been using it for the entire summer and it's allowed me to run on days when I wouldn't have been able to without it. It works best in calm to light winds. It's impossible to manage if flags are flapping. On calm days or days with a light breeze, the umbrella floats along and I can hold it with a light grip once I start running and angle it correctly. I know I look silly, but I can now run at noon on a 90-degree August day without getting sunburned, and I can also avoid heat exhaustion for a long time. It isn't an air conditioner, so don't expect it to cool you down. Under the umbrella, the ambient air temperature remains hot. However, not being in direct sunlight on top of the hot air makes a significant difference. When I run on dirt roads, I notice that cars give me a lot more room. I'm 6 feet tall, and the umbrella adds another 2 or 3 inches to my height and is shiny, so I believe they notice me much sooner. I've met far too many people who have had cancerous skin removed from their noses and ears because they were too careless in the sun, so I'm hoping that this umbrella will help me avoid that for a little while longer.

Four stars because the umbrella is very nice in general, and it keeps the sun off as it should, but less expensive umbrellas will do the same. In Phoenix, we had some extremely hot weather, and it didn't make us feel any cooler. It kept the sun from beating down on your head, so it was "cooler" in that sense. Granted, it's hot at 115 degrees Fahrenheit even under a shade tree, but I was disappointed by how hot the underside of this umbrella got. I had hoped that the silver reflective outer material would be more effective. It's also quite heavy to transport. The golf umbrella is heavier than I expected; if you plan to carry it around, I recommend getting a smaller size. In terms of UV protection, I can only assume it does the job, but I have no way of knowing if it is better than a less expensive umbrella. We haven't had any rain yet, so we don't know how it works in the rain. I'm going to assume it'll work fine because it's an umbrella. It catches the wind well but does not collapse, which is to be expected given its size; it feels like you're holding a large kite. Would I buy it again? Probably not.

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to spend that much money on an umbrella. It's a bit of a splurge. However, I was in need of some sun protection and decided to give this a shot. Worth it! It truly aids in the reduction of rays and keeps me cooler. So far, at least- In the mid-summer triple digits, it has yet to be put to the test. Instead of navy blue, I'd prefer black on the inside. Black, I believe, would be easier on the eyes because it would reduce glare and light. So far, the silver outer fabric has performed admirably. It rubbed off, according to a few reviewers. I don't have that problem with mine, and I use it all the time. One thing to note is how grippy the handle is. Consider the grips on a golf club, a tennis racket, or even a bike. The concept is the same. NOT the flimsy plastic found on other golf umbrellas of a similar price range. The spines are strong and sturdy, and they have easily withstood the test of time in the wind. I like that it came with a good cover, but there is no shoulder strap (which is a bummer!). br>For sun protection, I strongly suggest this umbrella. It was well worth the money. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Summer has finally reached triple digit temperatures. It's been around 110 degrees, and that's just the beginning; using this umbrella still works, not only in blocking the sun, but also in making the heat more bearable. It feels cooler and helps to harness the cooler air inside, but it also has a vent so that I can get some fresh air. I'm not sure how it does it, but it does! Despite its high price, I still recommend this umbrella, though I wish it had a sleeve strap.
