The 2020 version does not have a matte finish.
A matte finish was used on the 2019 Pro Soft. The 2020 models have a gleaming finish.
I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done.

I've been playing golf since I was eight years old, and I'm now 36 years old, so it's been nearly three decades. In that time, I've experimented with a variety of balls. The Titleist pro V1 has, without a doubt, been the most used in my years. On a whim, I tried vice, and I must say, these are excellent. I'll be honest, they're not quite as good as the Pro V1, but at half the price, they'll satisfy most golfers. The value for money is incredible. The pro v1s have a slight advantage in terms of durability, lasting a little longer, but not long enough to justify the extra $30. Let's face it, most of us are lucky if a ball makes it this far. Although Titleist is slightly better, it is insufficient to justify the additional cost. If you're going to buy your own balls, this is the one to get.
Balls of exceptional quality, period. These were compared to titls. They bite and spin, and are soft to the touch. We may not have the range of a prov, but we're not pros in the first place. Save money by purchasing directly from Vice.
I have a handicap of seven. Due to medical problems and aging, my swing speed has slowed to 85 mph. Callaway Chrome Soft and Bridgestone Tour RXS have been my go-to balls for a long time. I've only played a couple of rounds with the Vice Pro Soft, but they've provided me with a few extra yards off the tee, they're very similar to the others with mid irons, and I believe I've been chipping them closer to the pin. They hit the ball extremely straight with the driver and have good bite with short irons. They have a buttery softness to them. They're one of my favorites, and I'll be playing them this weekend in a tournament.
I've been trying out a variety of high-performance golf balls to see which ones suit me best. These are high-quality balls with a urethane cover that appears to improve short-game performance. These, on the other hand, feel a little too firm off the club and putter for my tastes. Titleist Tour Soft balls have a better feel to them, are nearly as long, and have a better short game and putter feel.
Finding a truly green ball with a non-matte finish is difficult. For better feel on the putting green, I prefer a golf ball with a shiny candy shell, but most hard shelled golf balls are yellow and resemble range balls. These are a bright green color and are extremely easy to locate. Off the tee, they also have a lot of carry. This is my new go-to outfit. to balls.
I liked the regular professional version at first, but these are even better. While my scores remained essentially the same after three rounds, I had improved control and confidence in my short game and was far more at ease chipping around the green. On my long irons, I found this ball to be very forgiving, with better stopping power even when I miss them slightly. When compared to a harder ball, I've reduced the speed on my driver to gain control and discovered that this ball is regaining some of the distance I lost. They've also held up well so far, even after a few sand shots.
I've bought these balls before, but I always forget to clean them before using them. Each ball has a coating that prevents it from sliding off the face. The ball flies perfectly now that I've scrubbed it in the ball washer.
This is the best premium golf ball money can buy in terms of performance. My average 30 came from a low spin, high launch driver. Shots with a lot of spin and a lot of launch equal a club and a half longer and higher flight. All well-hit iron shots come to a complete stop and drive extremely far.
