SCRIM- BACKED tape is a new type of golf grip tape that has recently been developed. With our SAPLIZE solvent, it can only get better. When you re-grip the club, you'll notice that the tape has adhered to the grip and that the shaft has no residue. PAPER- Traditional golf grip tape, known as BACKED tape, is available on the market. It can be used with any type of solvent. There will be less residue on your next regripping session.
They should be available at any local golf shop.
It may or may not, depending on the particular item. There's nothing wrong with the one that comes with the kit; simply order one. I can't say for sure because I don't know which grips you were looking at.
Selected User Reviews For SAPLIZE Golf Grip Kits for Regripping Golf Clubs, Kit A to F for Options Including Golf Grip Tape Strips, Grip Solvent, Hook Blade & Rubber Vise Clamp
I bought this kit so I could learn how to install golf club grips without having to pay someone else to do it for me. So far, I've been extremely pleased. The kit's components are broken down as follows: br>br>The hook knife is exactly what you'd expect from a low-cost kit: it's not particularly sturdy and made of thin plastic. The hook blade, like most other box cutter style knives, sides in and out of the plastic handle, and while it may appear to be the weakest part of the kit, it has successfully cut a driver grip and two putter grips. br>br>Once all of the backings have been removed, the adhesive tape is extremely sticky. I'd suggest getting the tape all over the shaft and making sure it's secure before exposing the grip side of the adhesive, which sticks to your fingers like crazy and is quite thin. br>br>The solvent is effective and completes the task. The spray handle and squirt portion of the bottle aren't very good, and after the first use, the spray handle and squirt portion stopped producing a decent mist. It will still come out, but it will take a lot more pumping. br>br>The rubber guide is excellent and securely grips the club in my clamp. br>br>Overall, this is a good kit that does its job!.
This kit will get the job done, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, as other reviews have stated, the hook blade is difficult to use due to the flimsy handle. I had to fiddle with the blade/handle until I found one that worked for me. Second, the tape backing is stiff on one side and split down the middle, so getting a hook blade for your utility knife is a much better bet. My initial attempt had to be scrapped due to technical difficulties. I didn't put in enough effort to make sure there wasn't a crease in the tape where this split is located, so it was discarded. The tape worked fine once I figured out what I needed. In fact, I was quite pleased with how it turned out, but I had to maintain a high level of pressure and smoothness as I wrapped the tape around the club shaft. Finally, I strongly advise you to watch a couple of youtube videos. Instead of relying solely on the kit's instructions, watch regripping videos on YouTube. I learned a few useful tidbits as a result of that. Finally, I'm not sure there's enough solvent to finish 15 clubs (I've only done three so far), so you might need some mineral spirits to complete a full set. The club clamp did a fantastic job. All- All in all, having everything I needed to complete the job in one package was convenient, even if it wasn't perfect.
When I opened the package, I discovered that the solvent had not been sealed and that the bottle had opened during shipping. The tape strip was merged into one large clump of sticky, oily mess after being soaked in solvent. The rubber vise appears to be shattered in half, and I'm sure the cutter is also damaged. I'd give 0 stars if I had the option. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Purchase this item at your own risk.
The fact that the grip tape was isolated in another plastic sleeve, thus saving it, is the only thing that saves a couple of stars on this review. Surprisingly, the grip solvent cannister was completely airtight - There are no cracks in the cannister and the foil seal is intact. So I'm not sure why when I opened the package, I was greeted with such a mess. Using this product to regrip a couple of clubs went smoothly after cleanup; the included nozzle on the plastic spray bottle is garbage and won't work, but I prefer to slosh a bit of solvent inside the grip and drizzle it onto the adhesive tape either way, so no loss there. Although the price is reasonable and the product is effective, I would prefer not to have to clean up a chemical spill in a sealed package when it arrives.
The hook slicer tool that came with the kit did an excellent job. Saplize also provided videos that depicted the entire process from beginning to end. I'd always been worried about damaging my graphite shafts or ruining my clubs, but this time I promised myself that if I had to, I'd just buy new ones. The first one, at least, went off without a hitch. I forgot to put the liquid in the grip on the second one, but I was able to remove it and redo it without causing any damage. The rest was a piece of cake. In less than an hour, I completed all of my grips, and they turned out beautifully. The only downside is that now all of my golfing buddies want me to do theirs as well!.
Almost everything you'll need to regrip your clubs is included in this package. The hooked cutting knife makes it simple to remove old grips from steel and graphite shafted clubs, as well as old grip tape. 15 grip tapes are included in the package. NOTE: Make sure the grip tape is thoroughly moistened before applying the grips. You've got enough activator to coat the grip tape liberally. Remember to get a table grip to keep your club in place. br>There are enough grip tapes to complete the entire set of golf clubs. I hit 9 irons and 4 woods in my round. In the bottle, there was still some activator left over, probably enough for 4 to 5 clubs.
br>On the cutter, the blade is extremely sharp and user-friendly. br>I sprayed a little extra solvent on the grips and sprayed it on the paper (approximately 5 squirts), and the grips went on easily. Simply maintain firm pressure as you continue to push forward and do not stop. I don't have a vice, and neither do you. br>I would strongly advise anyone to read this. br>I completed 9 grips in about an hour, which was also my first time.
