Selected User Reviews For Gaiam Essentials Yoga Block (Set Of 2) – Supportive, Soft Non-Slip Foam Surface For Yoga, Pilates, Meditation
I didn't want to waste too much money on my first set of blocks because I was new to yoga. I did, however, want quality for the money, and I trust Gaiam products because I have a Gaiam mat and a Gaiam strap. These were so close to being successful. They're lightweight, and the size is adaptable, but the foam is nearly too soft. They're easily scratched, gouged, and scribbled on. My son even chipped away at the side edge of the table. Overall, it was a good purchase. However, it isn't great.
Because it was a well-known brand, I purchased these blocks. a well-known brand with a good reputation After using them for a while, I've come to the conclusion that they're far too soft to be used for weight-loss purposes. for the purpose of bearing The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b br>* They are lightweight blocksbr>* Because they are soft, lying on them during restorative yoga poses or sitting on them is very comfortable. br>br>The bad: br>* They don't provide much support if you lean on them because they're so soft. Because they flex when you put weight on them, they don't inspire confidence. br>* They are prone to damage. The block in the photo has only been used 50 times and has never left my home. br>br>In the photo, you can see me only putting a small amount of weight on one of the blocks. I weigh 146 pounds, so that's about the amount of force I'd put on the block if I were using it as a support. br>br>In the end, it all comes down to the purpose of the blocks. When sitting on the block or resting your elbows/forearms on it, the softness is advantageous. Aside from that, I'm not sure I want to use these blocks. Finally, I use two sets of blocks: one to sit on and another to lean against during poses. br>br>For the same price, I believe there are better foam blocks available.
These are the blocks I ordered for my mother-in-law. I have the same ones as you, and they're of excellent quality. However, I was at her house the other day and noticed that they had sent her a gray one as well as a bright blue one. Two bright blue ones should've been the order. I'm not sure why they sent two different colors without first consulting me; it appears to me that this is poor customer service.
It's nothing like the blocks you'd find in a yoga studio. It's incredibly light and thin. After the first (light) use, it began to fall apart.
Too soft. It arrived scuffed, with marks on the ends (from shipping and/or mishandling), and it's easily marked up. After one use, the block has a palm mark on it. This isn't good. They are too soft and aren't firm enough for me. I don't think it's a good idea to try it. br>br>For the record, I'm a beginner yogi.
br>No one wants these blocks in their house, especially when they're near their body while doing yoga. br>If you sort the reviews by most recent, you'll notice that several people are having the same issue. br>I believe the problem is due to a change in manufacturing.
These are some of my favorite blocks. They're firm but have enough give to not hurt, and I've been using them in place of a bolster until I get one, and they're great. I will say that they "dent" easily, so if you leave them on a textured surface without any weight on them, they will take on that texture.
These are squishy rather than firm. I was hoping to find some really firm yoga blocks, but I was disappointed.
