I covered mine with a pillow case because I have a dog who enjoys yoga as well. It keeps it clean and allows me to easily remove it for washing.
Size: 12" x 25" x 6", Weight: 12" x 25" x 6", according to the hugger mugger website. 5 lbs. That's about right, in my opinion. Mine was purchased over a decade ago and is still in excellent condition today. It's something I'd strongly advise you to try.
The dimensions are 25" long by 11" wide. 5" wide x 4" deep; It's the Classic, not the Jr., that you're looking for. Size is something that some establishments advertise.
The dimensions are roughly 26" long, 11" wide, and 5" deep. It's made of a thick cotton fabric and is extremely firm. It's perfect for my back issues and I use it on my yoga mat for a "backbend" stretch. The term "hugger" is misleading. In bed, it wouldn't be a good hugger pillow. I hope this has been of assistance. This item was returned, and I will not purchase from them in the future! They were always the same size as the ones I used in yoga class. This is no longer the case. They've slashed the price of the item - It's smaller and shorter, and it doesn't provide the same level of support, making it quite uncomfortable.
Why would you want to make a bolster cover that isn't pre-cut? shrunk? After being washed in cold water, the bolster has shrunk to the point where it no longer fits inside the cover.
These Hugger Mugger standard bolsters are used in yin and restorative yoga classes at the yoga studio where I go. I fell in love with these bolsters and decided to purchase my own set for home practice; they are incredibly supportive and comfortable! Because other reviewers mentioned having trouble replacing the Hugger Mugger cover after washing, I also purchased these stretchy zipper pillow cases to reduce the amount of time I have to wash the actual bolster covers. It's all going swimmingly.
I wasn't planning on spending so much money on a bolster. It was incredibly self-centered. Although it is indulgent, Aditi Shah, my favorite yoga instructor, said it was her favorite. I went ahead and bought it, telling myself that if it wasn't worth it, I could return it. Then I decided to give it a shot. While I can't compare it to other brands because I've never tried them, this bolster changed my life. For me, Supported Fish turned into a pleasurable experience rather than a source of discomfort. In fact, thanks to this bolster, all restorative poses have become significantly more comfortable. If my amazing bolster was stolen, I'd cry and then go out and buy another one, even at a higher price, because I adore this glorified firm pillow.
This is exactly what you'd expect from a bolster for yogis. Size and firmness were both ideal. It's nice that it has handles on both ends to make moving and carrying it easier. br>br>Removing the cover is extremely difficult. They should either increase the length of the zipper or give the fabric a little more 'give. ' I was concerned that I would rip the fabric. That was the amount of effort it took to remove the cover. After removing the cover, I discovered that there is another interior cover that hides the inside foam pillow/bolster. On one of the ends of the interior cover, it was'sloppily' finished. br>br>I PAID MONEY to have this DRY CLEANED, and even after that, the REMOVABLE COVER is impossible to replace. So, what's the point of having a'removable cover' in the first place? br>br>A bolster cover made of tough, stiff 'upholstery fabric' is NOT required. It should be made of a regular cotton/poly blend that can be washed thoroughly.
The chemical smell was so strong that I had to leave it outside for a few days to let it air out. I'd let the inside air out by opening the zipper. Without assistance, I was unable to zip it up.
The bolster is a great addition to any sitting position. This bolster is rectangular in shape and is firm, but it gives and supports you comfortably. Approximately 5-minutes Approximately 3' long and 6" thick. On the end, there is a handle. I went with black, but there are a lot of different colors to choose from. For fun, I might use my silver oil paint sharpie and stencils to decorate them. If I find new information that would be useful, I always update my reviews. IN ADDITION, I DO NOT GET COMPENSATED FOR MY REVIEWS.
It was recommended by my yopga teacher, who purchased several for some classmates directly from MUgger Hugger with the same model, but the one from Amazon was thicker, bulkier, and stiffer, and I was unable to use it because I could not lie back over it and put my head down as instructed. I checked with another yoga instructor, who advised me against using it. I should have returned it immediately, but I was hesitant to do so because I wanted to keep the box. I would not recommend purchasing this for a Restorative Practice; if I had to rate this bolster with a star rating, I would have given it a zero, but I was forced to give it a one.
