Both. However, for a home gym, it's a different story. There isn't a more solid bench on the market! This thing doesn't move, wiggle, or sway at 275 pounds and 225 pounds on the bench. Solid!
The frame of this machine is covered by a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty, which is included in the bench's price.
Yes, but due to the fact that it is an adjustable bench, there is some movement. This is why I bought a flat bench from them. For step-ups, this is a very durable material.

It was a disaster. The hardware is all extremely inexpensive. The stitching on the back was torn and the item arrived damaged. As you can see in the photos, there is literally a piece of rusted metal protruding from both the back and the seat, posing a serious safety hazard. Unreal.
Lower back has a dangerously large gap. br>Cannot be used in a flat or prone position.
Until the first red flag arrived, I was looking forward to receiving it. It took a week for the package to arrive. The bench was eventually delivered to me. I started putting it together right away, but when I was almost done, I realized the welding on this bench was not of the highest quality. I assumed it would be of excellent quality, given the medium to entry-level pricing. Wrong! I'll send it back as soon as possible.
This bench was fantastic for the first year or so. br>br>When I bought it, I was interested in:
- The bench is a little wider than most, which makes pressing much easier. It's similar to the "Thompson Flat Pad," but it's about $300 less.
- There is no wobble in this product.
- It also doesn't slide around while you're using it. br> Wheels make it a breeze to move.
- There are a variety of positions available, ranging from civilian to military. The military is a fantastic angle to take. br>br>After about 18 months, I just got tired of it. The plywood backing on both the back and bottom pads cracked and broke as the feet pads became unglued. I'm hoping for replacement parts to arrive soon. I'll keep you all informed.
It would be nice if the cushion was made out of vinyl. Likes: The main bench pieces appear to be of good quality steel with a good finish. It was simple to put together thanks to the labeled nuts and bolts. (approximately 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch). All of the components are clearly labeled, and the instructions are straightforward. The only bench I could find that could be adjusted flat and nearly upright and didn't cost a fortune, with all stainless steel hardware. The components appear to be of long lasting quality. br>br>Dislikes: Main one: The cushion isn't made of vinyl or a sweat-proof material. Sweat will "leak" into the cushion material over time, stinking it up and causing it to deteriorate. I understand that not having a sweaty back and such is appealing, but your shirt can be washed; the cushion, on the other hand, is more difficult, if not impossible, to clean. br>br>I also didn't like how sloppily some of the adjustments were made. It doesn't appear to be a deal breaker or a major issue. At this price point, I don't think there are any other adjustable benches that are better. Overall impressions: br>br> This is definitely a home gamer with some nice features and steel components that appear to be built to last. I'd buy it again because it's not as bad as some reviews make it out to be. Let's hope the cushion will still be available when I need it in ten years. If the cushion was made of a non-absorbent material, Even with the wiggle that is present, I would probably give this thing 5 stars.
The bench pad is torn and defective. Buy at your own risk because this product is extremely cheap! br>br>The lower pad covering was torn when the product arrived. Because a metal piece designed to hold the covering in place had been cut in half (see photo), the manufacturer obviously knew it was damaged before shipping it to me.
People are bothered by the gap between the seat and the back, the packaging in which it is delivered, or a minor hint of rust that has no bearing on the bench's operation or construction. This bench is very well made, especially for the price, which I thought was reasonable. I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband and put it together by myself at our next-door neighbor's house. All of the pieces were substantial and well made, which I noticed as I put it together. My friend's husband, who also works out, came over after I was finished and was very impressed. It was a hit with my husband on Christmas morning when I tied a big red ribbon around it. br>br>The packaging was ripped and damaged, but this had no effect on the product - Plastic wrap was used to secure the contents of the box. Because it arrived on a rainy day, I can see how the cardboard box was damaged. Again, it's a minor quibble, but I'm very pleased with the bench's durability, stability, and ease of use! It has wheels and does not wobble from side to side, making it easy to maneuver. br>br>Now that my husband has used it, I stand by my previous assessment! He adores it and considers it to be a solid, well-made piece. created a bench He's 5'11" and weighs 170 pounds, so he's not trying to bench a ridiculous amount of weight, according to him. It takes care of everything for him. Overall, I'd give this bench a thumbs up!.
This bench has been in my possession for less than a month, but I use it every other day to exercise. br>br>This bench is fairly sturdy, does not wobble, and does not feel cheap. The cushions are comfortable and well-padded, but I'm not sure how long the outer material will last. Assembly was simple, but one bolt connecting the seat gave me a headache. The adjustments work well once it's put together, and you'll feel confident going heavy. While not of commercial quality, this bench will suffice for a home gym.
