Marcy has a problem with his six-way bench
3/5

Except for the leg exercises, the bench is excellent. Leg curls are best done while seated and facing forward. However, when doing reverse leg curls for glutes while lying face down, the leg extension only curls halfway, making it impossible to complete the exercise and achieve a full leg curl.

Excellent bench for people who are """averagely strong
5/5

""" Just wanted to leave a review for those on the fence, who may have read a mix of negative and positive reviews and are trying to get a good idea of the product's quality. br>br>The reviewer type: This bench is a favorite of mine and my wife. We're both short, 5'4" for her and 5'8" for me. We won't bench more than 225 pounds or lift more than 100 pounds because we're more interested in fitness than strength. This bench is built to last a lifetime. There isn't a single doubt in my mind that it will hold up; in fact, the quality of it prevents me from even considering such a possibility. br>br>I'm convinced that the most important aspect of this bench's success is the assembly. Mechanically inclined individuals, or those who have turned a few wrenches, should have enough common sense to recognize which bolts require extreme tightness (structural bolts) and which bolts do not. Hinge bolts that are just snug vs. (bolts in the bench pad) It took about 2 hours to put it together, including fine-tuning the hinge bolts (not too tight, not too loose) and adjusting the leg extension for both my wife and me. By the way, the instructions are strictly diagrams and not words, so use your common sense; we made a couple of mistakes and had to disassemble and redo, and we laughed at ourselves for not paying close enough attention. There's no need to be concerned. br>br>The bench pivot points are ideal for us short people, which can be explained as follows. The Bowflex 5 was the first piece of exercise equipment we purchased. 1 because we needed a heavy-duty bench, and it has excellent reviews and is well-known for its superior quality. It's a great bench for tall people, but the bench hinge points for incline and decline are too far apart, the length of the seat pad from knee to back is too long, and so on. We didn't like using it because it was too heavy for my wife to move around, even with the wheels. The Marcy SB-, on the other hand, is a much more affordable option. 350 is a fantastic match for our needs. When I use the decline dumbbell bench, I don't feel like I'm on a medieval torture device; instead, it feels just right. The same can be said for the leg attachment; everything is in perfect working order. This bench has received some positive feedback from tall people (6'1" and up). I'm not sure how this bench would be comfortable for them, but the reviewers claim it is. br>br>An issue of stability is also raised by some reviewers. I have no idea what they're talking about at all, to be honest. I'm 220 pounds with a 100-pound leg lift, and I'm not even close to being unstable. It's strange after using this bench to try to figure out what those reviewers are talking about. br>br>The only drawback that other reviewers have mentioned is that the hinge bolt for the leg lift attachment sticks out too far and scrapes the inside edge of the knee. If the nut is not far enough out to cover the scraping blot threads, one reviewer added extra washers to get a smooth rounded edge. a different tape recommendation It's not that bad; it's more of an annoyance, and I'm going to add washers like the reviewer who included a photo of one in his review. br>br>Conclusion: br>br> Who, in my opinion, should purchase this bench? 1) Individuals with a height of less than 6 feet. br>2) Those who want to be in good shape but not overly muscular. If you're doing Power/Strength training, go with 225 reps instead of 315. br>3) The use of space-saving devices. The footprint is 52" or so with the bench incline and leg lift attachment off. Who should stay away from this bench? br>br>Who should stay away from this bench? br>1) If you're 6'1" or taller, you'll have trouble fitting into the bench dimensions. br>2) If you want to train for strength in the Mark Rippetoe style, this bench will quickly become obsolete. Go to a real gym, not a Planet Fitness, or invest in a $400 commercial gym bench. br>3) People who lack the ability to put things together, resulting in negative reviews due to their lack of understanding, i. e. If you overtighten the screws to the pads, the built-in fasteners will rip out, duh. If you overtighten the hinge bolts, the bench will not pivot, among other things. br>br>This is a fantastic bench, and we adore it!.

The issue of safety is a major concern
3/5

For the ease of assembly, I gave it a one-star rating. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is serious about lifting because it is very unstable. I'm keeping it, and I'll probably have to secure it to the ground. I'm hoping that I don't crack my garage floor too badly.

It's a nice bench, but it could use a couple of minor tweaks
4/5

This bench appeals to me in general. It's a lot more comfortable than my old CAP bench, which I'm no longer using. I can use it for leg curls and extensions, which is not bad considering the quality for the price. This bench is ideal for use in my home gym. Having said that, I did notice the positive feedback about the bench's tendency to be unstable and the protruding nut. Despite this, I chose this bench because it was less expensive than other leg extension/curl machines. As a result, I went to Lowe's and purchased a 10" flat bar, drilled a 1/2 hole in it, painted it black, and bolted it on. The problem of instabilities has been solved with a simple solution. I found a bolt head cap and simply placed it on top of the nut as a solution for the nut. Lowe's or another hardware store should have the bolt head cap. As you can see in the photos, I used one from a dumb bell stand. Despite how much I like this bench, I have to deduct one star because I had to go to Lowe's for the flat bar, plus labor, and I couldn't find a cap for the nut. Marcy should be aware of and address two simple, inexpensive, and necessary safety fixes, in my opinion. Aside from that, the bench is perfect for me.

Marcy Leg Extension Bench Marcy Leg Extension Bench Marcy Leg Extension Bench Marcy Leg Extension Bench Marcy Leg Extension Bench This is a good-looking, adjustable bench with leg extensions
4/5

It's sturdy enough, has a lot of adjustability, and is reasonably comfortable. It fits any exercise I do because I'm 6' tall. The only snag is putting it all together. I have a lot of tools that help with assembly, and it took me well over an hour to put it together. The directions were clear and concise-- Stick to the instructions to the letter! You'll only need three hex keys to put it together, and you'll have to supply the crescent wrench. Fortunately, I didn't have to use any of them thanks to my arsenal of tools. It's a lot easier if you have a metric ratchet set and matching wrenches. With the hex keys provided, I'd have a field day putting this bench together! If you're not mechanically inclined and must rely on the provided "tools," best of luck! Here's something to think about: If the pads aren't attached to the top of the leg extension, the through bar can be used for seated curls. Something along the lines of a preacher's bench. UPDATE: The other reviews about the bench's instability are correct: it will tip over if you slightly kick it while mounting it and have weights on it. Ouch! This is a product liability claim on the verge of being filed! For them, it's such a simple thing to fix- You, too, if you have the necessary skills. Take a look at my photo; it speaks for itself. self-explanatory Marcy's failure to do so was truly a blunder. There is a significant design flaw that needs to be addressed. The other photo illustrates what I meant when I said you could do curls with the upper leg extension bar- Only the roller pads should be removed.

When the repairs are completed, it'll be a fantastic machine
5/5

I read the other reviews before purchasing this machine, and it is a fantastic machine. Fixes are shown in the photos. As a result, I added an iron flat bar to the front shoe to improve stability. The lock nut and shank of the bolt sticking out on the machine, which hit the inside of your knee, was another issue for some people. I used scotch 88 electric tape to secure a small piece of hard foam over the bolt. There is no longer any issue. The machine now functions flawlessly after these two issues have been resolved. I'm a big guy with a height of over six feet. And weighing in at 220 pounds. There will be no issues.
