I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I weigh 210 pounds and lift a lot of weight. This bench is very stable and I'm never afraid of falling flat on my back because it doesn't shake. It's a huge improvement over my previous adjustable benches. A big thumbs up!.
I've only had this item for about a month or less and I love it; however, it wobbles like crazy. I know it doesn't look wobbly in the video, but if you're benching 150 pounds (I'm 180 pounds alone) you'd want it to be stable and not move; I tried benching earlier and the wobble was intense; I almost lost balance and it was very frustrating; I'm not sure how long this will last but I'm not sure how long But, as they say, you get what you pay for (I got it for $100 on sale). br>br>Edit: I tried tightening the bolts more to see if that was what some of you thought was wrong with the bench, but I discovered a gap on the head of the bench that looks like it needs welding, which I would have to fix myself, but other than that it's a great bench that can support a lot of weight.
The equipment was solid and sturdy, just as it had been described. It's very simple to put together. A plus for delivery. The packing was superb. I'm at a loss for words at this point.
It was adequate for the price, but it isn't the most durable bench, so I wouldn't do anything particularly strenuous on it. It's also a little higher off the ground than any other bench I've used, so I won't be able to do step ups or bench jumps on it. It's a good bench "for now," but I won't hesitate to upgrade to a heavier piece of equipment when the time comes.
Unfortunately, the screw threads aren't fully threaded, and one of the screws can't be secured to the leg, making it extremely dangerous. br>br>The second pin is also missing.
To begin with, I didn't have high expectations for this bench because it was inexpensive. As I began to assemble it, I discovered that one of the feet was missing a thread and the hole was too small for the bolts. I had to get some tapping bits and drill threads into the hole with them. There are also some cotter pins with a small spingloaded beebee at the end that are supposed to hold the back and front legs together. The only issue is that the beebee does nothing to prevent the pin from being pulled out. It will be pulled out with normal light pulling. My concern is that if any type of moderately heavy weights are used, the structure may collapse. I've only used it for bodyweight exercises so far, and the pins have held up well, but I'd never use weights with it. Next time, I'll pay a little more for a higher-quality product.
This bench has been in my possession for nearly a year. It seemed to work well at first--it looks nice, is comfortable, and is simple to put together. However, while it was initially stable, it became increasingly wobbly over time, making certain exercises like bench pressing difficult to perform. The dowel/axle that secures the front leg of the bench popped out a few weeks ago, causing the bench to collapse (I'm not a big guy). There were no injuries, which was fortunate. I reinstalled it and double-checked that everything was securely fastened. Then, a couple of days ago, it all came crashing down on me again. It appears to have gotten bent at the outer bracket this time. There's no way back, in my opinion. What you pay for is exactly what you get. Expect these to wear out quickly, and if you don't have a choice, be cautious about the exercises you perform on them.
