We had a bit of a problem getting the right size even when ordering according to our foot size, First pair was a little too big for us, so we exchanged them for small ones. This shoe was an instant hit with my little one. A Velcro closure with hook and loop is easy for him to use on his own and to pull securely. Since the sole is flexible and gripping, LO won't be slipping and sliding in the rain like they would with a cheap foam/plastic bottom. Dress these down for play dates and wear them with khakis and a polo for a casual look. I don't have many pairs of shoes to choose from, so I can't really speak to the durability of these shoes, but I do like them and recommend them.
