My personal opinion is that sunscreen should not be used. As you can see, it usually smells, it doesn't go on evenly, it gets in your eyes, it makes your mouth water, and it gets everywhere. I also don't like the way my kids use As much as I find it difficult to hold still for sun screen, I find it much easier to convince them to put on a UPF shirt. Bringing the hoods that much further to cover their necks, ears, and hair helps them feel more protected. In the past, I would add sunscreen to their faces, and sometimes to their necks if they do not wish to keep their hoods up, but my preference is much simpler, and the boys are also pleased with it. In addition to the hooded shirts we already have, my youngest has started requesting them every day. This pair of socks also has thumb holes, which he loves. It does seem to be a little different in size from the other ones that we have. Especially if you take advantage of the thumb holes on the wrist. Whenever I get something like this for my youngest, she usually wears a size XS. Even though he is capable of getting away with an S, he typically swims in them. In this case, he may find the XS to be a little on the short side, especially if he places his thumbs in the holes and moves his arms While he may be on the taller side for his age, he appears to be healthy and active. All this to say that we love these shirts, but you may need to check the sizing to see what fits best for you and your needs.
