Questions & Answers

Is there really a better Stamina Areo Pilates training method or do they all work the same way?

It is likely that they will all work the same as long as they have the extra features, such as the rebound attachment. When shopping, I would definitely make sure you select one with the elevated I can tell you from experience, getting down on the ground becomes increasingly difficult as you age!

When putting the reformer on a stand or when taking it off for storage, how easy is it to do either?

This folding reformer is very sturdy and is almost as heavy as a car It is for this reason that the wheels are there. For $50 or less, you should be able to find a folding model. It is hard to move alone these things because they are bulky and take up lots of space.

Do the 700 and the 650 models differ in any way?

I'm not sure if I believe much of this, so please don't quote me. Those models are from different years, I think. They look nearly identical based on a Google search. Comparing their product specifications, you can see that they differ very, very slightly in their measurements. The 700 is newer to me, but they do not appear to differ that much. Having owned a 700 for a while now, I think it's a great purchase. I found it to be very easy to assemble.

For a beginner who has never used a Pilates machine before, is this a good option?

A trained Pilates professional would be a good resource to teach you how to use the reformer properly so you are aware of all the things you should keep in mind while using it. In other words, there are so many YouTube videos, but you do not get those one on one personal training sessions as the professional tells you to wrap your thighs, knit your ribs, and all those little gentle reminders while you are performing each exercise. In order to make the most of this reformer, you would benefit from having a bit of one-on-one You might also want to check out YouTube. understand that having one-on-one sessions is expensive and not everyone is able to afford it. Due to my job, I was able to take lessons much cheaper than those who were members of the studio. Gratz reformers with the actual springs are the best. This one is awesome and does exactly what it says, but nothing can compare to one with actual It may not be very helpful, but if you watch videos of trainers working with a client, you'll get a clear picture of what I mean. You are in my best wishes!

The Pilates Reformer is a great Pilates equipment to use at home
5/5

In the first place, I hired a professional reformer and took lessons in it. In addition, I read every single review on this site, and any other reviews on the stamina reformer as of summer 2016, since I know how much this product is. Besides being considerably less expensive, it allows you to do most exercises the same way as this one and get the same benefits Obviously the quality of the models are not the same as that of the more expensive professional There is no need for the bounce attachment in my solution For Pilates, I use it just as a It cost about $700 total since I also ordered a pullup bar, a box, and a pole. At less than $1000, you're still well below the $1000 mark. The cost of Stott or Balanced Body is less than $1000 or even a bit more. As a result, I will probably buy a professional machine some day because this cured my lower back pain caused by DDD and aging, too much sitting, etc. , and it was time for me to start doing Pilates (I became a Pilates addict). Right now, I am just going to stick with the Stamina machine, and it is working fine. The program has not caused any issues for me after three months. that Pilates isolates and strengthens the minor as well as the major muscles, giving me more flexibility than simply stretching from floor to floor. This prompted me to purchase Elle Herman's Pilates book and make sure that I was looking at the fully loaded poses on page 48. According to one reviewer of that book, "Pilates Reformer - How not to cripple and maim yourself on the Reformer, 3rd edition" can teach you how not to be crippled and maimed by the reformer. The first thing you should do is take some lessons from a professional (group classes aren't all that expensive if you can find them in your area) and learn how to breathe properly, posture correctly, and avoid doing anything that could potentially injure your neck, spine, or shoulders. Even though all of this will cost you some, when my back pain was cured within a few weeks, I decided to continue to read the books above and to get some additional videos such as Stott Essential Reformer and Intermediate Reformer videos, and to continue professional lessons occasionally. To learn the classic Pilates technique, follow these steps Complete Universal Reformer Set + Archival English & Math Collection There are two DVD sets available in Spanish An introduction to basic concepts It is fundamental The intermediate level The advanced level Advanced Super You can buy the old video from Amazon for On YouTube there are also many good videos you can watch for free. However, you have to learn proper form in order to tell what is good / bad. In one review, a reviewer expressed that he did not need the pull up bar. Not only can the carriage be used for "pull ups" but it can also perform other exercises, such as planks and stretches, while being operated from the other end rather than A variety of exercises can be done with the box and the pole. It comes with a video and a wall chart as well, which are very useful. As a result, if you are using this as a reformer, I would suggest that you purchase those accessories as well. The other reviews I read were very positive and I would agree with most of their The system is not constrained at any point As long as you are careful when changing the cables, otherwise you can get pinched. So I have to do it with both hands. The nylon cords are braided, so there are a few more acoustic effects than you may find with other cords however, this is something that can easily be changed (even professional reformers sometimes have to adjust the rope length to achieve equality). Assembly was straightforward and the product did not have a strong odor. But you will need to use a little common sense at times. The cons are As I mentioned, the carriage is lacking padding, so here is what The Yoga Exercise Floor Mat is 1/2-inch thick and made of premium quality materials This mat is extra thick - a slip-resistant surface with an inch of extra thickness A lightweight, moisture-resistant product that is both light and durable The strap makes it easy to carry Amazon has it right there. Make a piece of com that fits the reformer and cut it up. I keep one piece on the reformer (which is now very nicely cushioned) and have a big piece spare for work on the floor. Please, all-- One of the cons could be the lack of As soon as you pull the resistance cords up, they tighten up It was almost unnecessary for me to purchase the red cord (I am a 170 lb, 5'8" tall male). My resistance is now a red cord and a black cord as I use my highest resistance or up to two black cords for my other exercises. Putting the red cord on one of the two center slots is the best place to put it. It's not necessary to use anything else besides the black cables that come with this device unless you're very strong. I would recommend trying the black cords first and ordering red cords only if you need them (then you can just add a single cord). Due to their tendency to tighten up quickly, I had some knee strain sometimes when doing exercises in the skater pose (take it easy on the resistance and keep your knees bent if you don't want a lot of lateral knee strain from the cords). In addition, many of the exercises felt similar to the studio reformers I have worked on when I was on the box, such as leg loops, lunges, planks, and leg extensions. It is not wise to use a lot of resistance because you will not be developing minor muscles, but instead switching to major muscles and may be tempted to cheat. When it comes to Pilates, form matters. As a whole, it seems pretty smooth to me. You can follow up by The year is now four years old. The cords have gone out of elasticity after repeated uses, so I replaced them with new black ones directly from Stamina products. This machine serves both as a movement tool and a stretching machine for me. Please, all-- Lastly, the platform is rather narrow and made of hard plastic next to the foot bar So I do sometimes use it to place a foot on it for lunges, etc. , but I just make sure that I wear tennis shoes with the foot I'm putting on the footbar area (otherwise the plastic gets infuriatingly hard on With a tennis shoe, you can avoid that problem. The same can be said about the platform next to the pull-up In order to do some exercises (especially walking), I put on my tennis shoes again. One black cord connects the plank on one end to the pullup bar on the other). On a professional reformer, you may not have that problem since they have a padded and wider footrest that allows you to remain barefooted or barefooted while exercising.

Beginning users and those under 5'6" are likely to rate this game a 4 or a 5
3/5

My favorite part of this is the ending. Three stars instead of five are the result of the fact that to switch the rebounder and stable bar, you have to unscrew two knobs, pull the rebounder out, put in the stable bar, and screw the knobs back in. It was easy to drop the bars in and out without using any tools, but that would have been a quicker option. It's just over one foot tall for me and I'm just over 5 feet 6". For full range of motion leg work, I can't extend my legs all the way without hitting a stopping point when they are 2 inches too short. Additionally, I am not able to jump or bounce as much on the rebounder as I would like because I have reached the "stopping point. ". There is no need to worry about this reformer for most people, especially beginners. I have a large range of motion and strong legs, and I have practiced Pilates for many years, so perhaps I needed a more robust model. The more resistance I add, the closer I get to a stopping point, but I'd prefer light resistance and multiple repetitions, since I'm not trying to bulk up, but to gain flexibility and cardio.

Thanks so much for pointing this out to me
5/5

A massive amount of instability affects the L4-region of my spinal cord Lumbar vertebrae with bulging discs and osteoarthritis at L5. It is worth its weight in gold to own this Pilates machine. I do not experience pain while exercising, and I am able to appreciate the cardio foot board very much, but the DVDs that come with it are not very useful. I have to hear the pretty lady tell me again how wonderful I am going to feel, because you can't skip ahead to the good stuff. I understand. But hey, not a big deal. At a fraction of the cost of true Pilates machines, and with the added benefit of working out in ugly clothes at home and not worrying what other gym employees might think of me as I talk back to the lady, this is a wonderful product.

The first few days are going well
4/5

There are some tweaks that need to be made. I think the well box itself weighs at least 105 The weight of my body is 115 pounds. And yet, somehow I was able to carry this box up the front porch, into my back bedroom, and I built it all myself (despite the instructions not being all that clear). There is only one type of resistance band on the reformer (there are 4 total) so anyone used to red, blue and yellow springs will have to learn to work with just one level of resistance after some time, until they can move up a band to match one of the others. I've also noticed that the foot bar is fixed at a 90 degree angle, but once again you just work around it and I haven't found it to interfere with my workouts so far (I've still been able to Because it is built more like a trampoline than a board, the jump board is rather narrow. The result is that although the jump board is great for jumping, you can't really put your feet in second position, so you have to modify the design a bit. My overall opinion of the bed is positive, and it is even more useful since I bought a box to go with it. If Pilates were not comprised of a long box, a magic circle, hand weights, and a ball then what would be the point? This investment is great for me because I get to use a studio machine at home without having to go to an expensive studio. It would be nice if the shoulder blocks were a little more sturdy, but then again, it isn't too bad and I can work with it quite well and I am enjoying working out with the There's just one thing truly lacking there are no foot straps to keep your feet from moving while working out your abs. It's all there is to Every other issue is either being handled or can be accommodated with minimal fuss.
