I purchased a NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill in late 2017 that has a rectangular key to fit into the rectangular depression. Please note that the image matches what you will get and not what comes with the machine. I have.

This second Safety key can be used as a backup if necessary. Unlike the original plastic piece that came with the treadmill, the new piece is slightly different in shape.

The treadmill needed a safety key, as it was a used one. In our case, we ordered the key we think is the right one based on the treadmill's make/model. A wrong key was delivered when the key came. My complaint was handled quickly by Treadmill Doctor and I was refunded in full!.

I had to when I had to. I am able to use it on my treadmill. I had to pay $70 when I had to buy it directly from Nordic Track a few years ago. This is the funniest thing I have ever heard. As you can see, you can get it here for less than a fraction of the price. Not sure if this is genuine, but the price is considerably less than what I paid.
