Questions & Answers
This box is much lighter than the Rogue foam box, and it can easily flip if the athlete is not jumping in the center of the top surface. I use it in my garage gym for Crossfit workouts. The safest option is for one of the athletes to hold the box while the other jumps. If all boxjumps are executed correctly, landing safely in the center of the top surface, an experienced crossfitter can use it on their own. 30" is probably too high for most people, especially when a lot of jumping is required.
I'm not sure what one intends to do with martial arts operations, but one does need a partner to keep things in check.
I've tried both weighted and unweighted step-ups.
I usually lean it against a wall or place it on rubberized flooring.

This box has a great concept. This one, however, is extremely unstable, unlike the weighted Rogue box. I learned this the hard way when I broke my ankle while doing box jump overs. It had done this several times before, requiring me to place a sandbag on top of it and place dumbbells around it for stability and to keep it from sliding. If all you need it for is step ups, it's fine, but true CrossFit workouts are extremely hazardous. I'm going to discard it.
Because of its light weight, it feels very unsteady. If you land in the wrong spot, it will tip over. Because of its instability, I am hesitant to use the 30 inch side.
I was overjoyed when I received my Titan box. There are many wooden ones available, but this one is fantastic; the fact that it is foam makes the jump easier for those who have never attempted it before. The ladies I'm working out with had never attempted box jumps before, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practiced on the foam titan box. My 6- and 9-year-old grandchildren were equally enthusiastic and performed admirably. This would never happen on a wooden box in my house! I give it a 4 1/2 star rating; it easily could have been a 5, but I use the 30" side, and it would be nice if it were a little wider!.
This took a little longer than I expected, but once I got it, I was overjoyed. I first tried this at the gym with my trainer and was so pleased to find it on Amazon and have it delivered to my house. There are a variety of exercises I can do with this to stay in shape when going to the gym isn't an option.
This plyo box is fantastic. It's great for step-ups or even jumps (just make sure you put it against a wall if you're jumping on it because it moves a lot when your foot hits it). Anyone looking to build a home gym on a budget should definitely check this out. The only criticism I have is that the foam feels a little flimsy to me, but I mean- For the price, this is understandable.
For the past three years, I've had this. I felt obligated to write a positive review after 5 years of using my home gym. I was looking for a softer alternative to wood/iron jump boxes after suffering a lot of shin damage from them when I built my garage gym. I've used this for a variety of applications, from jumps to step-ups, and the R****E ones were just too expensive. as well as a comfortable place to sit in between sets. It has proven to be a worthwhile investment over time. It's easy to move around a small space and out of the way when it's not in use, thanks to its light weight (which I think is a huge plus). CAUTION: Because it is so light, it is not as stable as wooden ones. I usually place it near the squat rack so that I can grab it if I start to wobble. For step- ups is likely to have a practical limit of 275-300. The weight of a person is 300 pounds.
Because of the foam edges, the fear of scraping your shins is gone, allowing you to go faster, but the foam also makes the 30" level a little unstable. Instead of scraping my shin on the edge, the foam shifted the base, causing the box to kick out. I was fortunate enough to be on a mat rather than a hard surface. The only flaw I found with this box was that.
Those are no longer the days! The money was well spent.
