Despite having free weights and a weight cage in my son's garage, I do not get comfortable using them. I also am often home alone when I want to exercise. I have seen these ropes on weight loss shows for years, and I thought maybe they would be useful. I was pleasantly surprised by how heavy they were when they arrived. I'm happy with the way the rope is made and wound -- it's nicely made and tightly wound. The ends of the cutter are covered in rubber so no gloves are required, which I would have expected for the price. The rope can be held down with a clip even when vigorously used. Having fun while listening to music is always a bonus, and almost to my surprise I often don't want to stop-- so I keep going past the time set. As a bonus, this provided me with some aerobic exercise as well! The carpal tunnel in my hands and arthritis in my hands don't make it difficult for me to hold My upper body strength has increased as well as the strength of my forearms and upper arms has improved significantly after only a few weeks. Also, my shoulders seem to have a more slender shape. Several of my weightlifting son's friends have been using them as well! They are great! I am very happy with them!.
With the gyms shut for months, I have been trying to come up with ways to exercise at At the gym, I have always seen people using these machines, but I have never used them myself. The battle rope was easy to set up, which was one of my favorite aspects. Purchasing the 30 foot rope, it was heave and durable, so I attached it to one of the legs of my trampoline. There were 2 straps and a carabiner, and it finished looking nice. There is more than just standing up and waving your arms. I thought using ropes is just an arm workout, but I guess there are multiple exercises and combinations you can do to get a full body workout. In a squat position, you can jump and lunge, do waves and slams, and squats are also possible. You can tone your whole body and do cardio at the same time! It would be fun to make an obstacle course in my yard with battle ropes for my kids and myself. Since my kids are homeschooled with me this semester, I need to keep them active as well. This is a new workout regime for me that will be both challenging and fun. I am looking forward to incorporating these into my workout routine.
He's assembling a gym in my basement with this and I got it for him. Trying to find things that he can do without all the expensive gym equipment has been the goal of mine. He still needs to get a good workout, but I don't want to spend a lot of resources until I know he will stick with it. I use a battle rope at my gym and it gives a great workout, and you will feel it He has already got a lot of great stuff, and this is just the perfect addition to it. It fit perfectly from corner to corner since the rope is 40 feet long. He will even take it outside if the weather is nice. This is a heavy duty rope that will last several years. He sometimes takes it out onto our stone patio and has a field day with it. This cloth has not frayed, ripped, or been damaged in any way. It is very strong and made with high quality materials. Having a 40 foot rope of the right weight was perfect in his first attempt. I would not have had to lighten up anything less. As my son is over 6 feet tall and his hands are huge, the extra long coated handles are great for him because they actually fit his hands. This rope has been very good to me in terms of quality and performance. I was more than pleased with it.
It is one of the items I bought for my husband to use for his at-home workouts. He uses it several times a week for a variety of exercises. It is one of his favorite things. I am very pleased with my.
Additionally, these adjustable straps have made it so easy to dress them up or down. I am glad I purchased the gym equipment at home, quarantined the gym life.
It certainly isn't the worst battle rope, but it's far from the best. I used it for five sets of five reps one day. A large part of the rope is so frayed that it is abrased and shows a lot of abrasion. The area will be taped up or I'll look for a rope sleeve to cover it with. When it comes to battle ropes, you get what you pay for, so if I had to purchase another one, I would spend more for a better.
I have not had any issues with battle rope after 4 months. I don't see any signs of fraying or anything like that. It might not be ideal for your particular setup, but you can improvise. I did not want to anchor to a wall or floor. To secure a battle rope to one foot on the treadmill deck, I used an old bicycle tube to tie the tire tube to the tread plate of my treadmill. It is a great anchor point that is mobile and flexible.
I was very disappointed that I did not receive the fixing strap with my product. It's a pretty good game other than that.
