I got a large 14/16 for my daughter, who is 5'6" and 105 pounds, and it fit her perfectly, so you might want to get an 18/20.
For an 8-year-old, I'd go with 10/12. My daughter is eight years old, and the size 10/12, which is a large size, fits her perfectly.
The dark gray (silver) ones are owned by my daughter. They're manufactured in Malaysia.
I'd choose her normal size.

I usually wear a size XS or S, and I'm 5'2" and 106 pounds, so I bought these shorts in a size XL. I think they're a good fit, but the waistband could have been a little bigger because it cinches the waist quite tightly. Aside from that, they're very comfortable, and I like the style.

I'm keeping the smalls and retuning the mediums because they fit almost identically, with the mediums having a slightly longer length. The shorts, on the other hand, are very thin. The thin material allows you to see the tag, underwear, and "shadows. " I'm not sure how else to put it, but the shorts are wedgie shorts. Whatever the case may be. They will return to their original position if you pull on them. When I'm out in public, they make me feel self-conscious. In my opinion, these are more like pajama shorts. If they fit me as well as they do me, I wouldn't put them on a child. I'm keeping them solely for the vibrant color.
