Yes, I'd wax the boat immediately afterward. It doesn't contain any wax. Collinite caranuba wax in liquid form is one of my favorites. Best wishes to you.
My personal experience has been a bottle and a half per side. Apply a 2 ft. buffer to your speed buffer to keep it going. Area. When using your applicator pad to apply to the area, keep it very wet. Order 5 bottles if it is truly oxidized. In addition, before moving on, I repeat the same area three times.
I'm not familiar with bowling balls, but if the outer layer with the color is thick enough, I'd say it'll be fine for that finish. The cutting action is very low, but it removes fine scratches and swirl marks from cutting compounds. I hope this has been of assistance.
I've used this product as the next-to-last step in waxing my fiberglass Monterey Cruiser on numerous occasions. I've never had any of the black residue you've mentioned. It's possible that it's due to the material in your buffing pad, or that the cowling wasn't properly cleaned and prepared before applying the "Finesse-X" To get rid of the embedded grime and chalky old fiberglass, I recommend using 3M's Marine "Color/Gloss Restorer." Apply the "Finesse-X" to the cowling once it has been cleaned and re-glossed. It's the same product. "Finesse- It isn't a cleaner in the traditional sense. The product's sole purpose is to remove swirl marks and minor scratches left behind by the products used in the clean and polish steps. Once the "Finesse" step is finished, apply a final coat of 3M Marine "Liquid Wax" to seal everything in. You'll adore how your cowling turns out.

Thank you so much! My new 20-foot boat is brand new. The blue/white hull was not polished to a gleaming/like new appearance by the factory or dealer. There were a few light scratches and some areas of the boat that were less reflective than the rest. I did the majority of the exterior work with a random orbital buffer. This product is extremely gentle and has a "wet look" to it. Because it isn't waxed, you'll need to apply a coat of wax afterward. The results have exceeded my expectations. I think I only used about a fifth of the bottle. This bottle will last me for several years, even if I buff it once a year. I have no regrets about purchasing this product; it is not inexpensive, but it allowed me to achieve my goal the first time around.
As part of a three-part set a procedure in which 3M Finesse-type compound, 3M Finesse-type compound-type compound-type compound-type compound- After that, wax it. The boat appears to be in excellent condition. For compounding and polishing, I used a Makita orbital polisher with various pads.
I used to use 3M marine wax, but as their prices increased over time, I had to look for other brands, which I'm glad I did because I discovered other products that were just as good and easier to apply for a lower price. Excessively expensive.
The results astounded me. This is an excellent product.
3M brown rubbing compound is a great follow-up finisher. polishes the compound to a high sheen.
It works great, but making the boat shine takes a lot of time and effort, so make sure you follow all of the steps to get that new shine, as this will help you after you apply the 3M compound!.
With the help of a wool pad, you can create a mirror out of 20-year-old gel coat.
On my boat's Gel Coat, I tried several other 3M products, but none of them were successful. This product is amazing and gives my black Gel Coat a deep shine. I would highly recommend it.
