So, I'm hoping. These were purchased, and they do extend to 4 feet. On a hot day, there may be some resistance at the last foot, which should relax. Depending on where you connect your paddle and kayak, you should be fine.

These kayak leashes are very effective. I tried it once in a kayak and decided it was too inconvenient and restricted my rowing too much. I believe that if it had been a little longer, I would not have felt that way. I'm going to give it another shot before giving up completely. I'm also concerned that as the cord is used more frequently, it will stretch. I did, however, wrap my water bottle around it to keep it from floating away in the water.
The cord is too short to be used as a paddle leash, measuring only 42 inches when fully stretched; however, the quality appears to be satisfactory. If the product had been described as a fishing rod leash with a few modifications, I would have given it four stars. I'll keep them because I'm in desperate need of a fishing rod leash.
At first glance, it appeared to be a good deal, but the carabiner is of poor quality. I'll probably change them out.
If you're looking for a small device that gets the job done, this is the one to go with. This is dedicated to you. My paddle was not misplaced! I did, however, purchase a different leash to use, which was more expensive and better suited my needs.
You won't even notice it's there if it's placed at the proper distance from your hands. Allows me to simply let the paddle float while I tie on a new lure or get it out of the way while I deal with a fish (if and when I'm able to catch one).
The design is pleasing to the eye and functional. To use the strap, simply Velcro it around your oar and clip it to your Kayak, and you're ready to go. The clip that tapped on the side of the kayak while paddling was the only issue I noticed.
On my fishing kayak, these are ideal. While on the water, you can lose your equipment at any time. Believe me when I say that I've had to learn that lesson the hard way. These are an excellent option.
I'll be purchasing more.
