This attaches to your paddle, and it will work if the kayak has a place to attach the other end.
It floats in my opinion.

I'm so glad I took the chance! My dog has lunged at ducks or other dogs and knocked my paddle out of my hands on several occasions, but I always keep it near my kayak to keep it from sinking while I settle her down. It's of excellent quality, and I ordered it in red to ensure that it does not get misplaced.
I purchased three of these leashes to use with my two SUP boards. The regular paddles have two leashes each. I attached one leash to a kayak paddle - for those who are unable to stand and must use the paddleboard in a sitting position It was simple to attach the leashes to the paddles and the paddleboards' bungee cords.
On an eight-day kayak trip down the Buffalo River in Arkansas, I used this. I paddled for 84 miles with my paddle attached. It was long enough to be useful but not too intrusive. My boat sank in a rapid after hitting a strainer on the first day of the trip. The lease clung to the paddle and used it for the purpose for which it was designed. I'd go out and purchase another.
Inside the red sleeve of the paddle leash is most likely a rubber stretchy cord. The 1/4-inch diameter of this does not impress me. I'm not sure if this will stay together or break if I lose my paddle in Lake Superior's choppy weather. I believe the strap's inner workings should be reinforced with a thicker cord - Are you looking for something with a diameter of 1/3 to 1/2 inch?.
We needed a paddle leash for our canoe after losing one last year, and these fit the bill perfectly. They're also what we use for our two-person meetings. tube tubes for people br>Easy to put on and take off, as well as long-lasting.
It's long enough and stretches out far enough that it didn't obstruct anything. Even if it only lasts a season or two, the quality appears to be better than I expected for the price. Replacing it is inexpensive! This is the paddle leash to get if you want a good, basic paddle leash for less than $15.
Used with a Carlisle Expedition Angler paddle and a wilderness systems radar 115. It appears to be made of high-quality material, and while I have not yet tested it in the water, I have stretched it out several times at home with no issues.
I can attach it to my kayak, and the leash is long enough that it does not obstruct my movement. I don't expect much from such a tool, and it meets all of my requirements perfectly. I also like how bright red it is in the water, making it easy to spot.
