I used some of these on a Pelican case with wheels that I use to transport emergency ham radio equipment. Because the Pelican cases are thick enough, I can screw these pad eyes directly to the shell; this way, I can lash a few extra pieces of equipment outside that wouldn't fit inside. pre- Use 1/2" flat head 6 wood screws in undersized screw holes.
Worked perfectly. I strew these around my kayaks so that I can use small carabiners to attach fishing gear and other items.
Deck lines, deck bungee cords, and securely clipping water bottles on my deck are all things I use them for. They are resistant to the elements and will last for many years.
These are of excellent quality and extremely strong; they will require a great deal of pulling power to handle those heavy loads.
It does what it is supposed to do.
