I'm not sure if the way my leash was sewn was done on purpose, but I would have done things differently. It comes with two straps that you can velcro around an object like an H-frame. Rail. The problem I'm having is with the velcro's hook and mesh sides. The strap is now easy to wrap around and secure, but an entire side of the hook velcro remains on the inside of the secured strap loop, which is now wrapped around whatever you secured the strap to. As a result, any movement of the secured strap causes the hook side of the velcro to make an annoying scratching sound. On an H- It's a very loud and obvious rail. So, if mine was sewn incorrectly, it's defective; however, if that's the way they make them, they need to change the way they sew them to prevent the hook side from rubbing against whatever strap it's attached to.
I didn't roll it, but the mirage drive slid off the side and luckily I caught it before it fell to the bottom. I looked up how much it would cost to replace one of those, and it was well over $500. So, from now on, I'll be tethered to that as well as my seat.
It's all about the price! If you're kayaking in the ocean, this isn't the best option. When I was launching my kayak at the beach, it was rolled by a wave, and the clip broke. br>br>At the time, my 2020 Hobie Outback pedal drive was sitting on top of the kayak, and the clip had broken. My car ended up in the water! br>br>This was a very costly lesson. The cost of the drive is likely to be in the thousands of dollars. Get a better leash by spending a little more money.
This was purchased to prevent my $900 hard drive from being accidentally submerged in water. When I was at the docks, I had a couple of close calls, but I'm no longer concerned!.
Mirage drives are not only expensive, but production is also behind schedule, so if you lose one, you'll have to paddle the old fashioned way for a while before pulling out the wallet. This fits perfectly and takes seconds to put on. I may replace the buckles with stainless steel buckles, but so far, so good.
Overall, I think this leash is better than the Hobie leash, which costs $37. The plastic clips that secure the drive to the leash were the only thing I didn't like about it. I replaced both ends with stainless steel chain links, which should be much more durable and ensure that my $1000 drive does not end up in a lake. Overall, if you have a non-floating drive, which is the vast majority of them, this is a must-have.
Because it's sturdy, I can easily pull it back if my mirage drive falls over.
Purchase is highly recommended.
