This was simple to attach to my paddle, and it was long enough to keep my paddle out of the way when I wasn't paddling. The cord isn't too thick or too thin, but it's strong. The carabiner was large but thin, allowing it to easily hook onto small ringlets. It's attractive and durable, and there are two of them! GThis was an excellent purchase and deal. I would strongly suggest it!.
This can be used for oars, but I prefer to use it for my fishing rods and reels, and it works great! I didn't have one of these when I was younger. My gear sank to the bottom after rolling off the side of my kayak in some big waves. That day, I lost around $100. . . but it was well worth it because I learned something important! Living and learning are two different things. It's nothing to be concerned about.
That is all there is to it.
I don't think these are a problem. Expect nothing from them in terms of elasticity. They may appear to be, but they are simply ropes used to keep your paddle in place. They're functional; I used them last weekend and they didn't get in the way. For a sense of safety, this is ideal.
Paddle straps come in a variety of high-end and name-brand options. I'm not sure why you're bothering. These have held both mine and my fiancé's paddles in place with no problems (even when I took an unexpected swim). When the nephew became too tired to walk to the shore, the rope doubled as a tow rope!.
As a result, the lesson learned is that the end should not be untied. The spring is held within the string by it. It does an excellent job of keeping the paddles from floating away. I was also successful in reattaching the spring to the string.
Our kayak oars have nice little straps that keep them from floating away if we lose our grip. The clip could be a little larger; it's a pain to get it on the paddle.
Work on my yak is going well.
