I purchased two sets of these straps after researching several options on Amazon. ft sit- Kayaks affixed to the side of a shed. I couldn't connect the straps because I didn't have anyone to assist me. I had to make loops out of the straps before trying to slide the kayaks into them. The slick nylon covers over the padding kept slipping out of the plastic kayaks. The problem was not solved by bringing the straps closer together. A kayak rack or two sawhorses are other options if you need to hang the kayaks without assistance. Both are available on Amazon. I was able to use the sawhorses solution: a 3- Using a minute solution instead of a three-hour struggle with straps to mount the kayaks is a better option. The metal hardware on the straps used to connect them to a wall is too wide for the end of a two by four wall stud, as other reviewers have pointed out. If you want to screw into all three holes in the strap mounting hardware, you'll need to mount a cross brace across the studs. This necessitates a significant investment of both time and money. br>br>I'm sure this product was successful for others, but I wish it had been successful for me.

I needed something that would not protrude from the wall and take up valuable garage space. The only design I could find that allowed the kayak to lay completely flat against the wall was this one. My 80-pound kayak feels very secure in it. However, I wouldn't put my faith in the drywall plugs that came with it to support this much weight.
My only observation/complaint is the plates that screw to the wall, which are of good quality and construction and will work fine. One hole is centered at the top, with two more on either side at the bottom, all of which are just wide enough to skirt around the stud in the wall. It would be better if the line had two holes, and it's funny that it comes with a carrying case, as if you're going to take it to the water with you. br>br>Delivery was excellent; I will order from this seller again. br>br>I've been using the product for a while and am very pleased with it.
