The mounting points on my boat were originally plastic, so I purchased 2 pairs to replace them. Since the hole pattern is identical, these can be considered direct replacements. Since I don't know who manufactured my originals, I am unable to identify the manufacturer. It is surprising how good the quality of this mount is for the price, particularly if you are replacing a pitted, corroded, or broken chrome It is important to know that these do have a slight angle to fit the slant of your deck, as do When installing, be sure to take note. The quality of these corrosion resistant fittings motivated me to order new stainless fittings for my Bimini hopefully they will be as effective as these. There is a difference between them and the others.
I think this is a very nice, well-made item that should last quite a while.
It is extremely difficult to modify the Bimini posts because the gap between the ears where they fit (1" standard) is too narrow. Since they are stainless steel, they cannot be modified,.
Please accept my thanks once more. EDITOR'S NOTE It is now a 3 star review. There is a difference between the number of mounting holes and As advertised, this product measures 5". I have not been able to line them up with my mounting holes since they are a good 1/8" wider than that. Overall it was about as good as I expected from an overseas made part. The bottom wasn't perfectly flat but once mounted it didn't bother me too much. A picture is an accurate reflection of what was sent.
Although the brackets look fantastic, the slot on my top is very small, which prevents them from fitting. Before purchasing, it is recommended that you take a look. If you make your tops mount smaller, either you will make one side bigger or make your tops mount larger. As you can see, I just stayed with the OME parts and now they can be found somewhere in the workshop.
However, I have not installed them yet. The boat is currently getting the interior remodeled. At the end of this, the top will be done. As well as the idea of the pin system, the appearance of the product is appealing to me.
A few of the plastic mounts on my Budge/Empire bimini top needed to be replaced. I'm very pleased with how these turned out.
The top is easy to remove, and the design is very nice.
