Is it correct that this will replace the old LED switch with no lights, assuming the control box is working okay?

It just took me a few minutes to install this switch and disable As far as I can tell, the only function for this is the Auto retract function, which I did not care for. Added a switch to the project with a modification to the mounting plate because the old switch was round and the new one It took Drexel and around 10 minutes to correct that problem. CK function is great and operates normally as well as without auto retract. *br>My boat was modified before I bought it, connections were " butt spliced" and I followed the same instructions, These are actually heat shrink tubing that shrinks around the insulation in the wire and provides a tight *br>Thanks! May not work for everyone, but I found it easy to implement and was pleased with the results

Is the controller built into the switch kit, or does it require a separate controller?

The system needs only to be plugged in and worked

Can you tell me how long the leads are on the switches?

There are about 2 feet between the two. In addition, they have Duetsche connectors which are impressive, because they are waterproof and easy to use, but if they are not on the other side there is no way to use them.

Can you tell me how wide the top of the switch is? The hole that needs to be cut out needs to be how large?

A square of about 2 1/4" is what I think it is. I'm not sure about the holes, but I believe 2 3/4" round holes will suffice.

It has been a surprise to me how poorly my old ones balanced my boat. With these new ones, it is a pleasure to sail. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't install them I called my son over to help me, and realized he would be able to finish it in less than half the time. I found the price to be much less than what other marine dealers would charge.
