Questions & Answers

Is it possible to fit as many cans of beer in this bag as possible? The straps are sturdy enough to bear the weight, but how about the buckles?

This is not a good way to keep beer cold, as it will not stay chilled for long. For a cooler/dry bag, you can search for Icemule. Having said that, if you are trying to get an idea of what 35L means in real terms, you can easily buy a 30 pack of cans I imagine it would be heavier if you put in ice, and carrying it would not be comfortable. As an example, I use this in the dry storage in my kayak to store clothes, towels, a first aid kit, lunch, etc. There is no problem with using it A cooler is not what you want, if you want a drybag cooler this might not work. Another idea would be to look into Icemule, their biggest offering seems to feature

In terms of height when rolled closed, how long is it?

Finished pack is about 21 inches high if you fold opening three times so that it is sealed well. Depending on how many times you fold, you may get an additional Pack is 18 inches wide and comes with a six-inch foot on the bottom, so it is pretty roomy for waterproofing.

Can you give me some suggestions on how to rig the bag to be able to carry a longer handled landing net and a water bottle for fly fishing?

As an angler myself, I know what it's like! It would be a good idea to attach the net to the upper portion of the black rectangular strip where the perforations are so we can fit some kind of strap or retractable pulley to There is probably a way to fit the water bottle inside the zippered portion of the bag. Despite its bulk, this bag can be pretty heavy to lug around among the stones along the bank or edge of the river.

How comfortable is it to carry the bag?

As any other pack, it works the same. For my purposes, it's more important that it keep the contents dry, as that's the purpose for which it is created. Compared to other packs in my collection, this one is as comfortable as all of them.

The following are the policies for Costa Rica I really liked this! In order to take my son to Costa Rica, I purchased this bag
5/5

During our trip, we expected to do a lot of hiking -- so, we wanted something that we could carry strapped to our backs, something that would keep bugs at bay. I was very pleased with the overall quality of the product when it arrived. While my son would have liked to have brought a vintage looking canvas bag on our trip, he ended up getting an Earth Pak instead. Those bags and the contents of them were all we brought on our camping and hiking trip. As a result of their size, we were able to take them on all of our flights with our Earth Pak and place them in the luggage carrier above our heads. As part of our Costa Rica vacation, we visited many places. Monteverde is located down the coast to Drake Bay and Corcovado, which are the most remote places in Costa Rica. In order to get from Sierpe to Drake Bay on an open-top boat you must travel through the wetlands and around into the bay for 45 minutes through wind, rain, and other rough conditions. The trip was shared by tourists and locals alike. Locals carry bare necessities in a pack in the same manner as this Earth Pack, but tourists prefer the large canvas roller bags. At the feet of my bag in the first picture of me in the boat to Drake Bay can be seen my feet. All of the bags sloshed around in water for the entire 45 minute boat ride into the park. After arriving, there were no docks to use for mooring. In waist-deep water, you jump from the boat into the bags, which are tossed to you by the captains. There were several tourists on the boat with us who appeared upset when their large and very heavy canvas roller bags were handed to them because they were wet and heavy. The boat went into the water and I was able to jump off with my son and I on our backs. We were able to hoof it up to our hostel effortlessly. There is no more slogging along muddy dirt roads with canvas rollers. Our contents at the time of arrival were bone dry, and we were able to pull out fresh, dry towels and The following tips will help you Since the bag is basically one large bag, we were extremely thankful that we I carried black mesh packing cubes to separate packed items and keep them separate, so I could easily grab one item out of my kit without having to refold everything each time. 2) A first aid kit was packed in a hard sided waterproof plastic I was totally unaware that the bag was completely waterproof throughout our two-week trip— we did not need to do this at all- There would have been no loading and unloading at all if I had simply used an old plastic bag instead.

If everything were to be perfect Despite the bags being heavy on our backs, we walked and hiked a lot while wearing them. There is no hip belt system on this bag and I wish it did. We liked the padding on the shoulder straps and found the straps to be quite In addition, the bags are large enough to be heavy when they are full and we would have benefited from a hip belt for longer hikes to distribute the weight more evenly. We were very impressed with the bag for the duration of our It was the best purchase we ever Having used these bags for hiking, camping, overnights and day trips for 9 months, we have since used them for day trips, overnights, and camping as well. This bag's size is ridiculously useful. Recently, the seam going between the small bag and the large compartment of our yellow bag started to unravel. As this does not affect the integrity or water proofing of the bag in any way, I have not contacted EarthPak about this. Considering the small note that was in the bag when it arrived mentioning a lifetime guarantee, I have no doubt they would do this for me. I was very satisfied with my purchase in general. The best find I've made on Amazon so far. The pros are ** - The cost of living is low - The quality of the product is good. Long-term durability - The water won't get in! Testing that time after time! (We put that to the test! )* - Easily packs a lot in it (small enough to accommodate a carry-on) but not so bulky as a large suitcase. ** - The size and weight are high enough to qualify as heavy*- There is no hip belt - It is worth it because just one seam has come undone and it is not integral to the bag. THIS BAG IS FOR SALE.

We offer great service and quality along with it
5/5

If your customer service is lacking, you can have the best product in the world, but that does no good if you have a poor product. The bag I am carrying is my fifth bag provided by Due to my position as a scuba diving instructor and spending a lot of time on my sailboat, I must use top quality bags in order to protect my clothes and equipment. The Earth Pak bag is the best that I have ever owned. I have used other bags in the past. In the course of testing, I encountered a small problem with one of the straps, which I emailed Scott, one of the company's cofounders, about. He did not only apologize for the inconvenience, but he mailed me two more straps the very next day! The product is great, and the customer service is great as well!.

A pocket on the front of an earth pak is not recommended! When I opened the front pocket of the backpack and the seal between the pocket and the inside of the bag broke after only using it once
3/5

Since the inside bag no longer is water-proof, it can no longer be used. Due to the fact that I purchased it 6 months ago, I am not able to return/exchange it.

There is a potential for danger
3/5

Normally I do not write reviews that are negative, but here it is. In my opinion, the most serious problem with this product is that its look and marketing make it seem like a real piece of gear rather than a stylish urban or casual clutch. All of them. In addition to these issues, it is completely unreliable, making it more than just a poor buy, but potentially dangerous as well. There is a problem. There are a number of complaints about this backpack, among them not being waterproof (even the front compartment has a zipper that is not sealed), dissolving when exposed to even a little insect repellent, and cheap buckles that break after only a few uses. As you can see, it is pretty straightforward. Does this have the potential to be That seems a bit dramatic, doesn't it? I suppose it would be okay for going around town on a rainy day. Someone might be in danger if they were to use this pack to keep their camera or other gear functional in the backcountry. It would be dangerous if that happened. You Earthpack are to blame for this.

The bag is waterproof and carry-on sized, but it has poor weight distribution and it is quite heavy
3/5

The pros are 1) This bag kept all of my things dry while I was on a nature photoshoot in the Amazon Rainforest. 2) This 55ml bag worked as a carry-on for flights between US and Peru via El Salvador, as well as There was no need to check a bag, which was great. The cons are There is a huge weight disparity when using this bag While I hoped the weight of the bags would rest on my hips like high quality bags, the weight and size of the luggage hung on my shoulders for the duration of the Due to the fact that it was my only piece of luggage (my bag hadn't been checked), the bag was heavy, and after carrying that around, my back was hurting (I needed several chiropractor visits and massages when In agreement with this review, I would love to see a better line of weight distribution bags from this company, as the bag was top-notch in terms of waterproofing and durability, but I would recommend this only to those carrying light loads After reviewing the 55ml, I am not sure I would buy it in retrospect We decided to go with only the 35ml bag and only use it for day trips (it would have been better to check the bag given how uncomfortable the ** 2) I have a second negative the bag itself is heavy. I found that it became so heavy when I started putting things like my camera and binoculars in it, along with supplies for a day of nature watching. Moreover, since I packed everything for my flights within Peru, at the end of the journey I was in an unbearable state of exhaustion. My wish would be for it to be either lighter or to have Carrying it from airport to airport though the bus and on to the Amazon boat was no easy task.
