There is a quality to this bag, but it is very light weight as well. don't have any other dry bags, but it appears to compare with the ones my friends have. I got the 10L bag, and I find it works well for day trips. If you pack very light, you could use it for overnight trips if you want. In case you plan to stay over a day, I would recommend the 20 or 30L bag. The main thing I do with this bag is to just throw a change of clothes in it, along with a jacket/ sweatshirt and my wallet/keys ready for a day of fishing from my kayak. Straps come with this bag, and I think they are nice. It also has a pocket on the outside and D rings on the bag that I really dig. There was still plenty of room for me to fit my biggest beach towel (40 by 72 inches) and two snack bags of chips, plus large spray sunscreen, soft tube of sunscreen, and bug spray. The two of these I have just purchased are for my snorkel trip to Puerta Vallarta and the surrounding area. In addition to buying some new equipment, I also upgraded my computer I bought plenty of shoe covers, snorkeling masks, etc. , but this was by far the best buy. In addition to my cell phone, wallet, water bottle, snorkel mask and gear, sunscreen, and snacks, my 10 L bag is the perfect size for all of my individual personal items. For my husband, I purchased the 30 L tote, and he was able to fit everything I had plus towels, hats, and some other items in it. Everything stayed dry, and it floated in the water like a dream. The bag was pretty amazing and versatile, taking us from Thailand to the U. S. it managed to survive 19 hour flights, the boat, elephany sanctuary, night market, and even survived 19 hours of flying. One piece at a time. You'll use it for all your essentials at the lake or while on the boat, as it is waterproof. The front zipper works exactly as advertised. I used it with an iPhone and a stack of paper inside and nothing got wet at all. The blade system worked well three times over which kept it from coming apart and no water getting inside the bag. The price really can't be beat.
