The old, broken tip of the tubing was removed using the tubing cutter. A good thing about the new tip is that it had an interference fit. In order to attach the new tip, it was necessary to drill holes In the instructions, you will find information about the size of the drill. It is very important that the holes are square, I used an electric drill press to achieve this. The new tip doesn't appear to be compromised and seems to be quite solid, but I haven't tried it yet.

According to Davis, this "kit" includes an adapter sleeve for hooks with a larger diameter. The instructions that come with the hook still refer to the adapter sleeve, but they no longer include it with the product. If you want it to fit, you're the one who needs to do it. You can use this hook if you have a boat hook with a smaller diameter.
