It's been almost two years since I installed this setup and no screws have ever pulled In addition, I used a dab of silicone on the screws just as an extra seal, so maybe that helps keep them in place.
Harkens are no longer used by YakAttack, they switched to Stealth pulleys made specifically for their kits. Attempts to fix the listing by Amazon have so far been unsuccessful.
We do what most of us do - we use YouTube as much as possible - but we have to do our homework as By just putting in some research on the subject, you'll be able to guide yourself in the right direction. I'm doing it for the sake of safety,
The process is somewhat similar to tying your shoes. Just untie your knots and reinsert your paracord. Make sure you leave plenty of cord for the final step. I hope you all have a safe weekend

As a result of its being made in the USA, I ordered the YakAttack Leverloc anchor trolley, hoping a company like YakAttack would offer quality products. But when I opened the package, I was shocked by how cheap the parts were. There are cheap plastic pulleys in the setup that are no where near the quality of Harken pulleys. Grooves are molded into the Leverloc system so that the anchor trolley rope can pass through them, but they are designed so the bottom line doesn't stay in the groove unless it remains It's hard to find a kayak with a perfectly flat side. It is the mounting hardware that is most disappointing about this product. All the hardware appears to be mounted using what appears to be #8 screws. In a subsurface scenario, screws should NEVER be used to mount hardware. If nuts are not available, then at least appropriate rivets should be used. Only reason I did not give it one star was because it is made in the Despite its quality, I am not going to install this Whenever I need a better quality product, I will purchase it from a company I know will fulfill that need.
It does as advertised and the install was easy. Watch the online video and you'll be fine. Just make sure to put silicone on all the screws as the pullies are open back and if you put too much silicone on then it will literally get into the pull. Make sure you leave approximately 6 inches of cord at the end so you can adjust it after you use it a few times. The rope will get a lot tighter after you put it in the water, so make sure you leave that extra length.
The anchor trolley is an addition that I've always added to several fishing kayaks I've owned over the years. Kits like this one are fantastic and are a great improvement over other products. All the items you need to install it are included in the kit. The pros include The *br*- Using the included hooked pad eyes, the paracord stays put and won't end up in the kayak where it can cause interference or tangle the line. The *br*- If the kayak has been aligned in the desired position, then you can tightly secure the line using the leverloc. A few months ago, I used it at BTB in a 3 ft sea and had no trouble staying in position while in 40 ft The *br*- Because the ring can be locked in place subordinate to the leverloc and the hooks are on the inside of the ring, the hull slap that can plague other designs is eliminated, allowing you to silently stalk fish on The cons are The *br*- Only something negative was that I slightly overtightened the self-threading screw on the front pulley when I installed it, so I had a bit of water trickle into the hull when we were on the water last time. It will be easier to fix the problem if I replace the screws with good nuts. It also comes with HD backing plates, which are worth the additional cost.
If you're interested in a used HD one, then the HD version is worth the investment. This is the best engineering solution you can buy on the market today. With its asking price of just $12, this is an excellent deal compared to assembling a kit yourself since all of the components are of extremely high.
A couple of weeks ago, I installed this on my kayak and have enjoyed using it. When adjusting the anchor position, the leverlock makes it easy to secure the trolley. I installed the device in about 15 minutes and it works well in terms of positioning and functionality. In this case, I used kayak rivets versus the supplied hardware since it did not have access to the inside of the kayak. I wanted something that would give a little more grip to the back end of the guides and pulleys. My paracord was kept on the snug side to reduce the amount of excess give in the pulley when anchored, and after a few weeks, there hasn't been much fatigue in the cord. I highly recommend this trolley to anyone looking to maintain control over their kayak anchoring.
simple to install, just watch a YouTube video before you want to put it on and you are done. There is a very practical feature on this anchor system, the ring clip, which simply aids in keeping everything a bit more organized on the yak, a factor that is important because there is only so much space available. It is suggested that you buy a CamJam to tie the paracord at one end, so that you have an easy way to loosen or tighten it if it becomes too tight. Here is a list of the tools that you will need The toolkit contains a drill bit of 1/8 inch, a drill, a screwdriver, a lighter (to melt the paracord ends), and scissors for clean cuts. My Sun Dolphin Journey 12 SS uses this system and it runs perfectly. After I purchase all my accessories, I will begin saving to buy a better kayak, and when I do, I will have this anchor system on the kayak!.
I used this with a drift sock in the river and it worked just as well. You can find a lot of tutorials on Youtube on how to set up. Keep your screws from becoming too tight. When you put it on, if you are fearful of a leaking hull, use some marine grade adhesive. The HD kit might be the right choice if you are worried about the screws popping out. I gave it 4 stars because I feel like they could have added 2 additional pad hooks for people with long kayaks and/or weird-shaped hulls. I would've used them for sure if they were included.
My second use of the anchor trolley resulted in the pulley popping off of its mount in the rear while I was attempting to position the Materials are cheap and the quality is poor. A five dollar plastic piece, maybe five dollars worth of stainless screws and some paracord. I would not recommend anyone to buy it. If it fails the second time you use it, it's a waste of money. cannot take any stress, and the wheel popped off easily. The wheel then fell into the water and has never been found This is a real disappointment. Due to this cheap piece of garbage failing so easily, I had to labor all day on the water trying to position myself. DO NOT think you'll be able to use this when you're out on the water, because you will have to untie the string and put it away once you snap off the pulley, or your kayak will be covered in dangerous free lines. Take this junk seriously and keep your safety in mind.
