It has an attachment point at the tip, and a nice loop at the back, making it a good anchor. I lost two anchors before I realized that you must attach the line to the point of the anchor (my last anchor did not), provide a slack line, and then reinforce with a non-destructive backing You can attach the back loop with a zip tie by sliding the loop over. There is a zip code A broken tie can cause the anchor to become less secure if you become stuck on the branch and then rotate. Unless there is enough slack, you will not be able to break the zipper when you pull - Tie the knot. If you want to use a zip, use one that is lightweight You can break it if you tie it and test.
My canoe will be able to use it. Despite being a bit rough in casting and with a fairly sloppy fit at the ring that holds the anchor open or closed, it does the job and has no reason to think it won't continue to do so for many years to come. Because it is light and small, it won't hold much based on weight. It will need to hook onto something to hold it up. Due to this, it can be difficult to bring up, so I will suggest that a second line be run to the bottom eyelet to A round bottom anchor is much heavier and is better to use if you are going to place it on a soft bottom where weight holds or just an eyebolt stuck in a coffee can for an eyelet will work for securing an anchor to a soft bottom.
This is a kayak fishing accessory that I purchased. The box is very small and contains only one item Easily connects anchor rope to bottom and top of the bag when collapsed, & has the ability to collapse into a compact size when not in use. Two pieces fit inside each other. When collapsed, the PVC measures 5 inches in diameter. I don't fish if it's very windy, so I don't know how heavy it would be on a very windy day (maybe a 3lb rod would be better in those conditions), but it won't be heavy enough for really windy days.
My pontoon boat is on a lake, and over the years, I have had a really hard time getting the anchor I had to use to grab the bottom if there was mud on the bottom. I pulled this anchor from my neighbor's pontoon boat as soon as we picked it up. I then used it on my own pontoon boat, and the anchor stayed firmly in place for several days. My neighbor paid a lot more at the marine store, but I found it online for a lot less. Love the product, it is extremely reliable, works automatically and always hooks up the first time. I am also very pleased with how it folds up and can be stored easily. It would be highly recommended.
It wasn't hard to donate enough anchors to the lake since I've donated a lot recently. There are quite a few trees and debris on the bottom to get tangled up in. An important step in installing this anchor is to use a zip strap to bind the rope and loop it through at the head. An anchor may become stuck if the zip strap is broken, in which case pulling hard enough will apply a force to the head of the anchor to dislodge it. I think this is an awesome.
My recommendation is to use this one every single time since it works great every time. I was very happy with my purchase! Having purchased a total of five of these, I have been able to hold kayaks in heavy wind with no issues. It was great to receive all 5 anchors in good condition!.
When either anchor or pole is dropped in a hurry, they both have floats on them to be marked so as not to have wakes if I drop them too soon. As that folding anchors home, I salvaged a piece of roadkill PVC pipe large enough in diameter to saw off a piece and have it fastened inside my milk crate kayak gear box on the back deck.
I mean, it's going to be under 10 bucks for a galvanized kayak anchor. What's not to like? Use the zip tie method to tie it from the bottom so you do not lose it and have to buy a new one.
