My bass raider was 10' in length so I needed an anchor. My previous method was to use a brick. In contrast, when it comes to There's nothing classier than a good ol' brick anchor on a plastic pontoon boat when the law comes to town. The end. Hahaha. As part of my American dream of keeping up with the Jones', I decided it was time to improve on my anchor skills. After I got my gear all set up, I just need a TV contract to complete the transaction. Do you know where Bill Dance is?.
There's a hole for putting a rope in, but it's a bit heavy. Anchors have pretty much two essential qualities reliability and strength. I will update this review if it becomes lighter or does not have the hole, but so far it is working well.
Everything seems to be fine with the anchor. This anchor really bury itself in muddy soil with some tension. However, I've only been using it for a month and already some of the vinyl has worn off on one edge, about the size of a small fingernail and it's corroded. There may have been a sharp rock that I snagged. Simply, it seems strange that the vinyl should be peeling off so quickly.
I chose the Atwood 8 lb mushroom anchor for my kayak because it is suitable for my use. In terms of value for money, it was quite good.
It works like a charm. A boat that is 18 feet long and accommodates 8 passengers is held in place by this system. You should give it plenty of room to drag to get it really torn up.
This anchor weighs 10 pounds and is black in color. Soft bottom anchors respond well to light currents and cannot be damaged as easily as strong ones.
Metal is a great way to go if you want to go big.
It's great.
